To those whose game crashes with WCEXP installed

If anyone has WCEXP and find it crashes a lot like i did then i highly recommend you erase it from your game. The patch is littered with bugs which cause the game to do the following

1) Crash just as the players are about to enter the field to start a match

2) Crash when you try to load a saved game file

3) Cause flickering menu's on returning to them after completing a match

The greatest asset of WCEXP is the updated stats and kits..the best thing to do is save the "uniforms" file and the "db" file with the updated stats to a safe place and paste them into the game upon reinstalling. I did this and the game hasn't crashed since. Almost everything about the patch is useless apart from the kits and stats -the sound quality of the menu music is absolutely dire (sorry Ste  ), and as for the playing levels of Holland, Canada and Namibia - well, lets just say the stats are miles out. When this was released it was over-rated and should be avoided if you want to keep your game bug and crash free

I do agree with Sonic. There was a lot of bugs in that patch, as I also had crashing problems.

Since removing the WCEXP it's never crashed so far. :)

Anybody else had problems with the game crashing while using the WCEXP patch?

thx bomber So im not the only one who thinks patch is shoddy, shame really as the rest of vineets work is pretty good

Great advice as I was about to install that patch. Now I know what to do.

:pizza:

I faced the same crashing problems so I unintalled the patch long time ago

I must admit, every other vineet update or patch i have downloaded has been spot on. Its clear the man spends a lot of time and we should all be appreciative of that, and i do recognise him for it...thank you Vineet. My emotions were clearly running high when i posted originally, but the WCEXP was frustrating to be fair guys, though it must be said that it was a very big project which was always liable for little chinks of errors. Anyway, he's made less mistakes than EA sports, and i still retain my opinion that EA should never be given the license to make a cricket game ever again. They just created a catalogue of errors in the production of c2002, not least all the bugs, but also their rediculous patch which is impossible to remove from your PC unless you clear your hard drive in its entirety. Shame on you EA - i just hope they don't make a balls up of their new project, and finally deliver a quality title (at last) us cricket nuts deserve it.

thanks

Hi this is Harsh from the old BLC forum . I have mailed as said but havent got my password :(

Sonic I have the wcexp since it released and it has never crashed for me. I post regulrly at the c2k2.tk forums and vineet routinely answers questions about his patches there. anyone with problems with his patches should go there and ask him first.

before installing new nvidia drivers was the only time i had flickering menus. this was before installing wcexp. I've never heard anyone posting at c2k2.tk of such problems after using wcexp .

maybe you installed some other patches afterwards coz i have only wcexp installed and it runs bug free. only problem was sound loss for minnows which becam ok after installing the fix.

anyway only a few out of so many are having problem. you make it seem as though the patch is really bad. thats not fair to new users. its defintely an improvement on ea's game. they should try it for themselves.

also i think rosters are least important part of wcexp since anyone can make them even me! if it makes you so irritated just change it urself. the other stuff like new umpires kits minnow teams even menus etc are unique and great for me. anyway def not "useless". maybe as someone said its coz the WC fever is over. I remember at the time even you were very excited.

harsh...if you check my last post you will see that I havein fact slated EA's very poor production values and i did mention that everything else vineet has done is good and that he deserves a lot of credit, he obviously spends a lot of time in his work and i do appreciate that. However, I am entitled to an opinion and my opinion is that patch screws my game up every time his patch is running, end of story, it runs fine without it. You are right though, when it first came out it was kind of exciting with the world cup around the corner, and even I anticipated it to be very good at the time. World cup fever is definitely over, more of a World Cup hang over I think harshy

By the way you can easily retrieve your password - log out and as you go to the log in screen you can go to "forgotten your password" and you will be sent various codes etc and a new password too.

Thanks

barmy army...you obviously didn't read my second post, i totally agree with what you are saying, vineet's work is total dedication, but im afraid that patch crashes 8 in 10 times i use it, without it my game doesnt crash at all. I'm obviously not alone as bomber and Rangeela agreed...but i did say that the rest of vineets work has been spot on, and long may it continue until EA get their act together (if ever  )

thanks
