Uni ftw

It's a toss up between law and History for me. But I've already put Law in my personal statement so...

I do find it slightly bemusing that quite a few seem to go to Uni without knowing what they want to do.

So you're dropping a decent subject that will offer you real job prospects to take History? You dissappoint me Tom. Should really have stuck with Law, would have been making some real money in a few years time, got to think of the futue mate, History's going to get you nowhere.

History is an incredibly broad degree. Allows you to go into a lot of differing jobs. It's actually a degree that is very sought after by employees in a number of walks of life. It's a very, very good degree to have, especially in this day and age.

Exactly. One of the most common degree amongst people in media, these days, is History.

That opinion Dan, is very old fashioned and out dated

I knew what I wanted to do, I was just led down the wrong path by the opposite sex :(

Obviously weak,

Sureshot, I knew generally what I wanted to do, as you probably know. But, with passing college brings a big dilema, as you don't have to stick to your intended path from your collage subjects, essentially from BTECs. So its difficult.

I know a few who've changed so far!

To be fair to Tom, I'd change degree course if I thought I'd gain 3 years and more of regular sex with a moderately attractive girls who's parents have money bursting out of their house.

And any man who wouldn't do the same is a liar.

I think it's one of the advantages of me being that bit older. If I did go to Uni, I'd know what I'd be doing. Then again, I'm on a specialist course.

Good for you Freddie. Physics is good fun :cheers

I know exactly what I want to do at Uni and where I want that to take me. Although I was aiming for something different when II began my A-levels.

I know what I want to do.

Also, there are very many struggling lawyers out there. If he didn't like doing it, he wouldn't get too far in life. Doing History would be prefferable.

I know what I'm doing.

Politics and International Relations. Builds me up perfectly for a career in either politics or the Civil Service. I'm tempted to pass over the good fight, and fighting for the justice of the being and just go straight in the Civil service, take my 40k starting wage, bumped up after 2 years to 60k then hopefully keep going through the years.

Only interested in a well paid job? Or is it something you enjoy doing, too?

They say the same about Philosophy. Unless you're planning on teaching, there's not much else you can do with that degree; at least no specialised career roles. I may be wrong, but that's the impression I've gotten thus far.

True. But one doesn't have to necessarily have to be a lawyer if they take Law at uni.
