NZ v Pakistan will be the first to use the new system followed 2 days later by Aus v WI. I'm guessing it is the same technology used as last time so Hawk eye predictor won't be used.

yea the 3rd ump made a disaster in that series and the WI vs England one. Things need to be sped up a bit by the 3rd ump. If I remember correctly the ump sees the same thing the TV commentators do so I don't know how it takes so long to make that decision.

If hot spot is available it should take much of the problems away. It is probably the best piece of technology available for getting these decision correct. Best for nicks of the bat and if the ball hit the bat or the pad 1st.

That was the reason they stopped it, I think they have trained the umpires better and they are talking to the players about it this week. So hopefully it goes smoother.

If they do it right then it's a good idea. If it's poorly down like last time then nah. I liked some of the comments on radipsport last night about the B McCullum dismissal which totally ruined a whole match and probably an amazing run chase by us. They were basically saying that with referals the benefit of the doubt needs to go to the batsman and NOT with the on-field umpire.

I can see where they are coming from but if the umpire has already made a call that it is out and the video replays don't see anything to suggest it isn't out, then they may as well stay with the original call.

From memory with the McCullum decision the replays showed he wasn't out but because they couldn't find any prove he didn't hit the ball he was given, it was just a total shocker.

Something like that anyway.

it cant be any longer then 5 days of test match, at least it would be fair to the batsman

The review system in my opinion is a good idea. But right now, it's flawed. They need to work out the kinks and test domestically before introducing into international games. Well that's what I think anyway.

i think you shouldn't be able to appeal whether or not the ball would hit the stumps for LBWs. If the umpire thinks its gonna hit then stick with it. However use it for LBWs for pitch, bat and hitting outside off stump. not height or line.

This a great addition by the ICC and the fact that only 2 referrals per innings will make it a massive success!
The main issue is that about india refusing to use this?? they are the richest board and whats the problem with this? I think its plain outright bullying of the ICC?

If India aren't in favor of the system then they are perfectly within their rights to refuse to use it.

Seriously, what are you up to? Even the CSA has refused to implement the review system. Why do I never see you criticizing the CSA for this? :sarcasm

Anyway, for the record, as someone has already mentioned, the ICC, before implementing it in international cricket, first needs to sort out the flaws this review system has by trying it out in the different domestic contests. That would be the best thing to do. I personally don't have any problems with the system, but if it's flawed, then that just ruins the fun of the game.

But read the articles before commenting!!! They have refused it because of the lack of money!! Are you going to say that BCCI does not have the money as well for this??
