Habibul Bashar and Hannan Sarkar dig in to build a healthy 2nd wicket stand of 92, but runs are coming slowly, with the required run rate ever increasing.
But Hannan Sarkar begins to try to up the run rate, and reaches his deserved half century. As while it is tight, Wales can nevertheless not take the wicket.
Jonathan Agnew: This partnership is proving hard to break for the Welsh, on their international debut, after that early wicket
Geoff Boycott: Indeed, the thing is the Welsh are bowling well and tight still, but these two, Sarkar and Bashar, are sticking in well to their credit, but the thing is Aggers is that comes at a price, as they aren't prepared to take any risks, and this means the will have a lot of work to do later on
Jonathan Agnew: And there is his half century, coming off 76 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes, as he has started to push on a tad in the last few overs, in aid to help the run rate as well
Geoff Boycott: Yes, a good little knock from Sarkar, but now he needs to get his head down an convert this into three figures. But he has looked calm and assured during his innings, and the thing is Jonathan, he needs to be ther at the end, realistically, and needs a t'other batsman to come in with a good knock for the Bangladeshis. Wales could do with a wicket before this game drifts away from them, but they are keeping it tight, so I'm sre they will come
Wales finally make the breakthrough as Cosker gets a deserved wicket, turning one out of the rough to bowl Habibul Bashar through the gate, and this sparks a cluster of wickets in the Bangladeshi middle order
Jonathan Agnew: Cosker turns, and runs into bowl, and he's bowled him! A cracker of a delivery! Cosker has got his man, turning one from the leg stump rough to hit the off stump, with Bashar drving through the gate
Geoff Boycott: As much as it was a daft shot, it was a cracking, turning delivery, it may have actually deflected off his leg, but still a great tossed up delivery and he's beaten in the flight, and he's deserved that Cosker
Jonathan Agnew: He runs in to bowl, and oh, Kapali has just pulled it straight to Harrison at midwicket, a real ugly shot, and well the old adage that once one falls, many soon follow
Geoff Boycott: That is really poor cricket from Kapali, it is just hopelessly mistimed, I mean it wasn't even a good ball, short and sat up to hit, and well he will feel real daft ha?p?orth
--------------------------------------------
Jonathan Agnew: Steffan Jones bowls wide of off stump and Sarkar drives square, it's in the air, could be a catch, and yes, it's caught by Cosker on the boundary, and that is a big wicket for Wales, and it's looking hard now for Bangladesh
Geoff Boycott: That was a crucial innings from young Hannan Sarkar, but he really should have, and had to go on. He was slightly unlucky to be caught inside the boundary, but he ran that risk there, but a big wicket for the Welsh and it really does look tricky for Bangladesh, not impossible, but the run rate is so high and Bangladesh's middle order is prone to collapsing, so it will be interesting to see how they cope, but if Wales keep their heads they should win
--------------------------------------------
Jonathan Agnew: Croft skips in and bowls, and Sahariar drives, and oh dear, this is going to a simple catch, yes, for Ian Thomas, and now the Tigers are in real trouble at 184-5
Geoff Boycott: I actually cringes looking at that shot, just awful timming again from another Bangladeshi batsman, and it looks bad, if Saleh who looking good can stay in they have a faint chance, but Wales look good now, but, oh bloody hell, just an awfully timed on drive, he's just beaten in the flight he, turning into him and well just such a soft dismissal
