What player do you want in your team?

There you go again! You have a problem man!
I was responding to the fact that we don't have a decent batting line-up, but if you line it up:

S Butt = G Gambhir
Opener 2 < V Sehwag
Younus Khan = Rahul Dravid (at this point in time, based on recent performances)
Mohammad Yousuf > Sachin Tendulkar
Misbah-ul-Haq = S Ganguly
Shoaib Malik < VVS Laxman
Kamran Akmal > D Karthik or P Patel, but < MS Dhoni

So, it really depends on whether Dhoni plays or not as far as comparisons in batting is concerned.

I have a problem? Eh, at least I'm not trying to tell people where to go like I'm there mother or something.

Yes, you indeed have a "problem", zMario. Notice that you are now comparing the batting line-ups of India and Pakistan in the thread titled "What player do you want in your team" without anyone asking for it, from what I can see.

Asif is out getting high on what he thinks makes him a better bowler and what makes him happy.
Shoaib is trying to come back after being pardoned for about the 10th time in his international career and he is 32 or so.
Umar Gul is unable to put a test series together because he gets hurt too much.
Arafat is being shun even tho he could be a good bowling all-rounder for Pakistan.
Sami Washed up...
Anwar wasn't even given a chance. so I don't know who Pakistan will play.

I wasn't talking about Asif - as far as I'm concerned he's finished.

Umar Gul is fully fit, and is in contention
Shoaib Akhtar is fully fit (or so he says) and is in contention.
Arafat is noted by the PCB, and is asked to come for various camps (He was suppoused to come for the training camp for the ICC CT)
Sami is nowhere near.
I believe you're talking about Anwar Ali - he's only 20 or 21, I expect him to debut in a few years

You wanna know who I was talking about?

Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir, Yasir Arafat, Rao Iftikhar, Sohail Khan, Abdur Rauf, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Aamer.

Aamer is a bit off the radar for now, but the other 8 are all in sight and very good bowlers. I reckon Sohail Khan would walk into the Indian side since he can bowl 145 kph+

Stop comapring India and Pakistan at every moment.

We have countless batsman waiting in line but do you see us bragging that Pakistan does not has even decent batting lineup in first XI for Test team.
Get over your I hate India bandwagon.

Sohum, I'm disproving his theory :)

So please, read the thread (which I think is part of your job description :p), and then accuse me of whatever you wish to accuse me of.

i think that Misbah is a better test batsman than Ganguly atm.
Ganguly was never a great Test batsman. The fact that it took him so many years to get a double century on a pitch where Irfan Pathan got his maiden century is one statistic showing that. Of course, Mohammad Azharuddin didn't get a single double, so maybe that isn't the best measure!

Far from it. RP hits the 140s pretty regularly (as did Ishant, in Australia) and RP has struggled to keep his place in both teams. India can produce bowlers in the 140s. What we are looking for is someone in the 150s or higher. That little period of 10ks in the middle our bowlers make up for by being more accurate.

Read his post. If he wanted to talk about that, I'm sure he would start a thread on the topic.

As for my job description, I am trying to keep this thread on topic, which is something it seems you are adamant against achieving.

So he is allowed to post whatever crap he wants and if there is credible proof that he is wrong (as shown above), I can't post it?

I can also say I (or anyone here for that matter) didn't ask your opinion on Ganguly, but you provided it anyway.

Also, regarding the fast bowlers point - does RP bowl 145+ consistently?

Ishant did bowl around 147, right? But as of late he has been only 130s, I'm interested to see how he will fare on an English or SA pitch (and conditions)

The "ratings" in that comparison are utterly biased anyways.
How are they biased (since you seem intent on posting rubbish) when I said Misbah is = to Ganguly, and Dare (neutral) came in and said Misbah is better than Ganguly.

If you are intent on making a theory or statement, it helps if you back up the crap so it looks slightly credible :)

What I mean to say is, you should say what you think is biased, and we can discuss it :)

There's a major difference. One being that every thread you post on seems to veer into India-Pakistan. That's exactly the point he was making and guess what this thread turned into...?

I can also say I (or anyone here for that matter) didn't ask your opinion on Ganguly, but you provided it anyway.
You would notice that my post about Ganguly did not offend or irk anyone...

RP gets into the 140s regularly when he is in rhythm. I'm fairly certain he did it in English conditions. Ishant has been struggling with injury from what I understand. I'd be interested to see Ishant in South Africa, tbh.

At least our bowlers aren't druggies!

Anyways, I'd like to have a decent upper-middle order batsman who can bowl a good medium-fast pace. Nayar would be an excellent option but he's just far too slow.

I was discussing how Chanderpaul was chosen by one member to be in the Indian team, and reminding them how the Fab 4 would not be dropped.

That thread evolved, and went to speeds and qualifications to get into the Indian team. Since this is a thread about what player do you want in your team, I pointed out that Pakistan have lots of fast bowlers to spare to other countries (if that was possible ;))

And your post did not offend or irk anyone, but I believe sid's did, because if we use Dare's comment since he's neutral that Misbah is > than Ganguly the batting line ups would be quite even.

Eh?

Resorting to insults now to fight your argument? Desperate, aren't you (in your posts anyway). Akhtar is clean now. Asif, the less said about him, the better.

It doesn't matter. Pakistan still would have better bowlers without Akhtar, so your point is completely pointless :)

Thread evolving is one thing. But every thread evolving into India-Pakistan rivalry is not acceptable. You have hardly made comments in the general vein. If you said Pakistan had a lot of bowlers, you said that comparing it to India. If you said Pakistan had great batsmen, you said that comparing it to India.

I have nothing further to add to this thread from a posting point of view.

Am I expected to make comments in the general vain?

And please note where I said I was comparing it to India? I was comparing it to the rest of the world - undeniably Pakistan produces the most raw (as in unexperienced at the international level) fast bowlers, with probably Australia behind them.

I was comparing Pakistan's great batsmen point to India, because sid make the comment that Pakistan does not have a decent lineup for their test team, which is not true.

The comparison was made to India because sid mentioned that India have so many reserves (I guess he speaks of Badrinath and Kohli and whoever else is there - Raina might be a candidate)
