Clarke started off so well but then fell away, maybe it was this back problem he is having. Hodge has the potential we saw that against the Kiwis with that 99 just a question of can he do it during the WC. Symonds did go into the WC with huge doubts so maybe it's Hodge turn to make a name for himself.

On their day the 8 Test nations can win a World Cup. But Australia is having a real bad preparation.
You realise that the only time there has ever been 8 Test nations was for twelve months from October 1991 right? There's ten now.

I'm sure he isn't, but he did say "the 8 test nations", not "the best 8 test nations".

He makes a good point though, i'm sure a lot of people would say Bangladesh and the current Zimbabwe teams aren't worth test status.

On their day, I'm sure Bangladesh could win the World Cup. After all they did beat a fully fit Australia.

Yes but could they do that time and time again? Doubt it.

We still managed to win the CBS finals so i'm sure you'll cope.
Trescothick - pfffffft, biggest nicker in world cricket
Vaughan - ordinary in ODIs, plays mainly as a captain
Lewis - pfffffft

The other three are very good players however :p

Yeah I don't rate Lewis either but he was still injured. But any side will struggle when you take away their best bowler, best batsman, most consistent opener and their captain.

They never had it taken away from them. Just 'suspended' for a bit.
Exactly. They've remained a full member of the ICC. They keep their Test status but the ICC have agreed to allow them to not keep up their Test obligations under the FTP for a while.
