the draw for qualifying for UEFA (european nations), CONCACAF (north america), ASIA, AFRICA and OCEANIA (australian region) will take place on friday 5th december.

the UEFA section has been seeded into 6 pots and one team will be drawn from each pot except for the last three groups which will feature an extra draw from pots 2, 3 and 4 - therefor making 5 groups of 6 and 3 groups of 7. the seedings are based on euro 2004 qualifying and current FIFA world rankings. the seeded groups are as follows:
