World Series Relaunch

Following would be a SPECIAL MATCH between the winner of this and the winner of the ICC World Cup.
Would it be special because world records would be broken?

It will be a five month tourney.
Dang, and I thought the IPL was long!

It will have big budget proper marketing and coveraged around the world by reputed channels, and each team will play only 6 matches per month 3 at home & 3 away country.
No channel will carry these live. Sports depends on stars and quite frankly there aren't that many stars in associate nations. In fact, you named 10 associate nations but could only think of about 3 well-known names!

The 3 Finals will be in selected grounds around the world
So much for not traveling around. :sarcasm

.......we will get sponsors no doubt..ICC will itself be the biggest sponsor and we can rope in sachin tendulkar, ganguly, mcgrath as ambassadors
You are unlikely to get any sponsors whatsoever. The ICC is not in the business of sponsoring tournaments--it organizes tournaments. No one would throw their money away on this.

Players shall be given full time contracts.
Do you understand the concept of a contract? Who would be contracted by whom? The national cricket boards of those countries obviously don't have enough money to write contracts for part-timers who are professionals in another field.

The jersey designs and tv graphics and presentation will be awesome and stadium facilities improved
Will the tournament also bring about world peace? Because that would make it awesome and brilliant.

It will be held every 2 years starting 2012.
Incorrect, it will never be held.

Special match only one.

The winner will transform into a better team at the end of the tourney.

So they can even beat the world champions.

It will be an exciting event WS vs WC.

I said only 6 matches per month each team not continous like IPL.

Its a suggestion or a wish thats all.

You're not going to instantly become better through this tournament. It's just like your "ODI and T20 crowds will come together to make one HUGE crowd" theory about Pro35 just because it's an inbetween of the 2 games. In theory, yes, that's real nice. It seems plausible and it seems like it only has a benefit. But in reality that isn't just going to happen. You aren't going to somehow become a hugely improved team after this tournament and compete with the World Cup winners unless they played second/third team.

It will be a good practise to them and some recognition.

And i said : Its a suggestion or a wish thats all.

What about spin play!? You always need a bit of spin play...

It will be a good practise to them and some recognition.

Yes, good practice... won't help them beat the likes of Australia, India, England, South Africa etc. And how will it help them get some recognition. They already play tournaments anyway. This won't be any different.

But these tourneys are short & not properly structured eg. WCL.

The IC is good for FC.

The special match is just for poularising WS.

These shorter tourneys are much more realistic and efficient than a 5 month tournament for part-time cricketers with jobs and a separate life :facepalm

The contracts seems to be the sole problem here.

It is. The fact is all your ideas are only scratching the surface. You haven't gone past the general idea and into the deeper issues such as money, advertising, revenue, climate and general quality. You've only produced all your ideas on how what would happen with the best possible outcome but it's just not going to happen. All these ideas are unrealistic and silly.

Someone please gift IC2010 to Terminator. ;)

The fundamental problem with these ideas is that they won't have nearly the effect that you think they will. Playing against substandard opposition for 5 months won't suddenly make substandard cricketers become world-class. Similarly, a substandard team going on a tour to play against world-class opposition won't suddenly transform those cricketers into world-beaters.

There is no magic pill or silver bullet wherein we can make a whole bunch of competitive cricket teams overnight (or over 5 months). Cricket has only been successful where it has been played on the grassroots level. We're finally seeing Bangladesh play better cricket because their domestic structure is providing more competition.

If you want cricket, or any sport, to be successful longterm, you have to get the youngsters into it at a young age. The vast majority of successful cricketers had a lot of talent at a young age and were hence picked up by their domestic structure. With associate nations, you have old, washed up guys, usually immigrants, suiting up for a side. That's not going to ever help them improve in a longterm scenario.

Perhaps the ICC has just set its sights too high. Cricket isn't a sport that is going to be viable in every country in the world. You're much more likely to attract a youngster to the sport by showing two quality oppositions playing an exciting game rather than two substandard teams playing some boring cricket against each other.
