This morning the VB series game between the Windies and Pakistan showed some diabolical fielding. Inzaman was worst- he was scared of the ball!

australia are a gr8 fielding side but they tend to drop lot of catches
i remember them dropping a dozen against india at chennai and quite a few in the recently concluded test series against pak and nz and also the chap-hadlee trophy

C'mon borncricketer, why take on some one who gives out his opinion?? If he feels Australia is the worst fielding side, let it be! If everyone is so obsessed with Australia being the best in the world, why include them in the poll? if you guys are so sure that they are not the worst, why have them in the poll at all?

My only point is that all members and especially staff members should be careful of what they post. messages like "WTF who voted for Australia! Someone who hates Australia most likely..." are only going to start flaming wars and we are not keen to have any more of that.
This is a cricket forum and keep it that way. No one is hating australia or any country here. if you are not mature enough to have a decent discussion then frankly better look for another forum.

Actually I do not agree with either of the opinions that Australia are the best/worst fielding sides. They are a good fielding side that saves a lot of runs but not the best. As aditya123 mentioned, they do tend to drop a lot of catches, and it seems that they are not even criticized too much. For example, the other day I just turned on the TV (Aus vs Pak, 8th match) and Damien Martyn dropped a pretty much sitter at gully. No one really grilled him for that.

Australia is not flawless in the fielding department--in fact it is their major weakness, compared to their other skills in cricket.

Bangladesh are so poor in every respect of the game that any such question should either exclude them from the choices or should be phrased as "2nd worst fielding side" and so on.
