He made it in by default. Even with an ordinary year, I don't think there is a better third pacer who can bat as well. Had batting not been an issue, I'd probably opt for Asif as my third pacer.

I agree there, thats the reason I had him in my side. His bowling has been great even with his foot injury.

Flinoff's had a shocking ashes series and icc trophy and hasn't played enough or well enough to warrant a place in the best XI of the year. Surely it should be judged on who's played the best in the year and the fact he's been good in thepast few years shouldn't be taken into account

Well he would be the 2nd best all rounder for me behind Pollock. His bowling has still been good and now he seems to be finding some form with the bat.

I think Pollock was amuch better option. Vettori has been a top all-rounder, but with Warne and Murili you don't need anymore spin.

Flintoffs batting from 2006 was poor though. His bowling was alright. It depends if you want a bowler or a batsman.

De Viliers should never of made 12th man. Apparantly he averages 26 or so. What a bollocks selection that was. There are better fielders around.

Thought Pollock had more than that, Flintoff has 33 wickets at 33 so it's not like hes having a crap season. Hes just got that x-factor with his bowling and with a decent batting lineup infront of him, his batting is bound to be better.

Fred has been out of form mainly due to playing through a serious injury which doesn't exist.
