The end of the year is finally here. And what an eventful one it has been. We've seen some great discoveries, interesting animals and an abundance of baby animals, most of which have all but grown up. We've seen animals come and go and made a few new friends along the way. In my case picked up a relationship along the way. Which mind you is going very well. So enough chit chat back to the matter at hand, which is running my zoo. Alot, I assumed would be happening. Especially seeing as it was running into Christmas. I had promised Steph I wouldn't "overspend" as such. It would be a tough task to do as I had some plans in bringing in some marine life.

Unfortunately we had a few passings soon after I had started to make plans for huge tanks to come in. Bruce, Ace and Tom all passed away. It was sad to see them go as Bruce was one of our two original Meerkat males and Tom, slightly younger and much less dominant. Ace being our dominant male wolf, was the only male sceptable to breeding. I now had to worry about trying to get a new male wolf into the zoo. Then Abhishek's first challenge would be to get the new male introduced to the rest of the group without any hassles. His second and probably most important challenge would be to get one of the more dominant females to mate with him. Only because I doubt Maggie would want anything to do with it. Even with our late passings, I managed to find the time to go on a tour on our newly constructed road safari. Mainly focusing on seeing the Tigers up close providing they are trained well enough to leave the car alone.

A long time ago a great man once told me that with every passing, new life is brought into the world. He wasn't wrong. To compensate, I guess would be the correct terminology, three of our pregnant females gave birth. Spotty gave birth to twin females and gorgeous they were too. One of our younger remaining female Meerkats gave birth to a male and a female and to cap off the trio our female Leopard gave birth to two males. We were starting to fill up with all these animals, I was starting to think we would need to start from the beginning with some of them.

It was heading into christmas and I decided it was time to take the last week and a bit off from work. Renee was already on leave from work and I felt that I needed to spend some time with my family away from work. I also felt it was best not to leave Jono in charge as something was bound to go wrong. So basically it was agreed that I allowed everyone else to be in charge and if there was any problems whatsoever to call me. But I'm sure they wont need me at all. Hopefully.

It was a welcoming sight to see the Zoo still intact after taking a week and a half off. However, I was not prepared for what was going to happen next. I made a trip straight to the office to check any important emails or notes that may have been left for me. I really wasn't prepared for anything as I read the last note on my desk. Myself, Renee and Steph would have to attend a hearing for a violation of the animal well being act. What the hell for. We were doing every thing by the book, I couldn't figure out why we were in violation. As it turns out Renee was actually under scrutiny from the Board of the NCPA as well. It was certainly going to be a tough month for us all.

There was a plus side to this, however small it may be. The female Aardvark and one female Meerkat had given birth to two babies each. It was a small light in a dark tunnel for us.

The time leading up to the hearing was nervous enough, but with Renee now no longer the Director of the NCPA due to a mutiny, I guess would be politically correct, against her she was forced to leave and now basically had no job. The hearing seemed like it would be a long one as we had to defend against allogations that we were forcing the animals to breed. Then there was allogations that we purposely built the exhibits too small so that animals were conifned. We were cleared for the force breeding, but we were forced to close the zoo and amend the exhibits to make them more suitable for the animals or some crap. We had had many visits before so why didn't they pick up on the size then why now.

Something strange was going on, but I really wasn't in a position to argue. I mean, I tried but would be held on content if I continued. Man was I annoyed. I even belted the bloke who had us put in that stupid hearing. Luckily for me though I wasn't charged with assault. So to end a miserable month, I had to go back to the zoo and tell the guys the bad news. We would be closing the zoo and would have to either release the animals or put them up for adoption. The Bureau won't let us keep them while we do the amendments. It's all a load of crap.

Everyone was quite sad to hear the news, as was I telling them. It was heart wrenching for all of us to have this happen. But we vowed to come back better thn before.

Stay Tuned for the next update, The big question is will we pull off one of the biggest feats, in zoo history. Find out in the coming updates

Sad to see Ace pass away. :(
He was really a good asset for the zoo.

Hoping a good pair of wolves come into the zoo now. Do I need to give two names, one male and one female?

Had loved this game when I used to play. If still in business,
Name: Zackey
Position: Marine Trainer

zaxotes added 9 Minutes and 9 Seconds later...

btw you have all the expansions? Ultimate Collection?
I still have my Zookeeper collection with 2 expansions. Endangered Species and African Adventure. Looks like you have Marine Mania and Extinct Species too!

Finally a few months after "closure", we were set to re open the Zoo. Of course we had to wait until we were given the ok first. We had put alot of work into fixing up the zoo and even tried to put in a new enclosure. It was going to be tough to get it passed by the board but we were confident it could happen. Gee come to think of it everything we did now had to be passed by the Board. Someone is seriously screwing us over.

First task on the agenda was to release, or put up for adoption, the animals that the Board wasn't happy with their exhibits or needs. It was excrutiatingly painful to seem most of them go. So we decided it was best to release them all just to keep them in there family groups. Luckily out of all the animals we were forced to release out tigers, jaguars and elephants still remained and the fact that our female elephant was pregnant probably was the reason we got to keep them.

We had to then set about extending the jagiar enclosure. Getting 4 adult jaguars into crates isn't easy let me tell you. It took all of us to do it. Once we had though, the workers pulled down the existing fence on one side then used that same fence to extend the sides. While all this was happening we got the ok to build another exhibit. I got so excited about it that i called in two trainers for it. We would be building a Dolphin enclosure where both trainers Varun and Zackey would be working with one Dolphin each.

The tank walls were the hardest part of the exhibit. Once they were up, however, the rest was quite easy. We did have to join the Show tank and the enclosure tank together so that the guys could put on shows and such. Filling the Tanks was the fun part. All that we had to do was stand there with a giant hose and point it down. Fun as anything because afterward we decided to give our remaining animals a quick hose down. We not the jaguars because they hate water.

With the tanks now finished we could finally start bringing back some animals. All our originals came back, except intsead of the Aardvarks coming back, we replaced them with red Kangaroos. Then finally the Zoo could reopen. Thank god, people.

Splendid update. Hope for some action sequences in subsequent updates...:clap
