Zoo Is Where The Heart Is - **Zoo Re opened**

Well. July was going to be a relatively quite month again. Steph and I had gotten into an argument about whether or not we should build the tiger exhibit or not. Darren got himself involved when really it didn't concern him. For some reason I didn't particularly trust him. I dont know what has lead to me to that, but I just know something just isn't right about him. Anyway, I eventually won the argument and Steph reluctantly agreed to the construction of the tiger exhibit. Alot was going on around us. I could see all the Zookeepers rushing around frantically as if every single animal was giving birth at that exact moment. It was quite a laugh to see them all acting this way.

Construction was now well under way and it was disappointing to see that the workers had slacked off a little bit after their mid year break. Some of them looked clueless as to what to do with the tools they had been given. I passed User on the way back to the office and he informed me that Sinopa was pregant again. It was great news. Looking at Jono as I walked in the doors, he seemed a little pressed for time. So using my cunning, I called up a few Paleontologist, Hedger, to assist him. You should have seen the relief that crossed his face. It was priceless. Upon walking to my desk, I noticed something. Something that I hadn't seen at all. On my desk the was a trophy with what looked like a certificate. Attached was an envelope addressed to me. Opening it up I glanced over the words and was quite surprised to see that they give out awards for certain milestones. Ours currently being that we had our 100th guest walk through the gates.

It was now mid July and the tiger exhibit was done. Upon putting the tigers into their enclosure, I noticed we'd received a rare white Bengal Tiger. Aidan was quite taken back when I'd asked him to be their keeper. They were such beautiful animals, tigers, so majestic and proud. I was wanting to spend as much time with them as I could, but I knew it would be difficult with my current relationship and the running of this zoo. I was kinda really looking forward to the end of the where I could go home knowing a very beautiful woman was waiting for me.

Sinopa's pregancy annoucemnt the other week pretty much started off a trend. Our Buffalo had given birth to boy; Snow had become pregnant again; Our female Jaguar had given birth to a boy and a girl; our Aardvark had given birth to a boy. It was wonderful to see that our animals were actually getting along. I think they were getting along too well. In the meantime Jono, and Hedger were still uncovering fossils and t-shirts. Who the hell buries t-shirts? Interestingly though both Jono and Hedger had put together a velociraptor fossil int he research lab. I just hope they weren't planning on bringing it back to life just yet. Another week had passed and Sinopa had given birth to two girls and then just hours later Snow had given birth to two boys. Dear god more babies.

And now to close out the month. Abhishek calls me and tells me Maggie is pregnant again. Omg more babies. Our figures were sliding further into red. August was going to have to have absolutely no development whatsoever.

wait so im both the tiger and buffalo zookeeper?

yes very much so User2010 has two exhibits to look after as well. i dont have any other pc members as zoo keepers and do you know how much it costs to have a separate zoo keepers for every exhibit

its dang expensive

just like to let everyone know now that im back at work updates arent going to be as frequent as they have been. i will update as often as i can which will still be quite frequent.

Its great how the story is progressing, though I should say that you are not doing a good job at staying off red ;)

Buffalo names: Jack (male), Jill (female) and Bob (kid)
Tiger names: Chomper (male) and Spotty (female)

I know im not very good at naming things but i think these are reasonable

it is a little hard at the start cos you are constantly building things and it builds up over time. Once the zoo is completely full and there isnt much to do thats when the big bucks roll in

With our figures continuely going further into red, Steph had banished me from the zoo for a couple of weeks. She was now heavily pregnant and very hormonal. I had to back off here a little. But what the hell was I going to do for a couple of weeks. Renee would only be able to spend a few days with me at most as she had to go overseas for a conference then had to deal with a conservation issue back at Melbourne Zoo again. I decided I needed an insider, someone to give me information about what's going on around the zoo. I rang Jono and told him to make sure if he gets caught that he makes up something like he's testing out a new fossil finder device. I knew if Steph caught him, she'd probably eat him alive.

Jono was very good at being the insider, Every day he would give me frequent updates about how the zoo was going, who was doing what and such. As it turned out Pippy, one of our younger Female Meerkats, was pregnant. When I get back, I would have to talk to Covvy about having to release some of them, as I didn't want conservation on my back about having too many animals in the one exhibit. We had even received an award for finding seven fossilised creatures. I didn't know you could get awards like that but I wasn't complaining. The more awards we got the more we could put up to show how well we were going to the public.

Once my two week banishing was up, I finally returned to see the Zoo pretty much in the same position as it was when I left. Except there were four new arrivals, two female Meerkats pups and a male and a female Grey Wolf pups. I knew I definately had to talk to Covvy. Before I do though, I needed to check the office for any outstanding emails and such. I had one that I'd received that day telling me that NCPA knows about newest arrivals and asked me to consider releasing some Meerkats. This was the moment when I had to call Covvy down. Upon his entrance I failed to notice that he was grinning from ear to ear, probably from the fact that his Meerkats were getting along so well. I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I knew I had to do it. I told him we were going to have to release some of his little friends into the wild and the decision as to whom would be up to him. Now I told him he could release Pippy as her pups would need her. I gave him until the first week of September to decide or I would be forced to do so.

It was nearing the end of the third week of August and Steph was now due to give birth. I had to be there for her, but I had no-one to look after the zoo. So, reluctantly I entrusted Jono to do so for me. As I was driving to the hospital with my nephew, I got a phone call from Steph's mother in law telling me to get there as fast as I could because Darren hadn't turned up or received any of her calls. Hmmm I wonder what's going on there. I told my nephew, Byron, that he was going to have to be strong for his mum as his Dad may not be there. His response was funny but also true. "Dad doesn't really care anymore. He always goes out and doesn't tell mum where he is going." Interesting, I thought. I knew there was something about Darren that wasn't right. We got to the hospital and raced up to see Steph. She didn't seem too upset that he Darren wasn't there but was relieved that her son was. Labour seemed to go on for hours as Steph wanted me to stay with Byron. After what seemed like 5 hours, we were allowed back in to see her. She had given birth to a boy that she named Adam after my middle name.

So with Steph staying at home alot now, I could finally get back to business with the Zoo, but I needed a right hand man/woman. So I called Renee. She happily obliged as she felt that she needed to get to know the zoo better with its ongoing developments. One night we stayed back going over profits for a shops and rides. Turns out that the pony ride isn't making more than one sale per month, so I contemplated the possiblity of selling it. With August now closing Jill, our female Buffalo and Spotty, our female tiger were both pregnant. It's good for the Spotty to be pregnant because she is an endangered species and I was sure we'd recieve some kind of bonus for it. Then on the very last day of August our Male Jaguar fell ill we know what the cause is we just don't know how to cure it yet.

If you could increase the admission price a bit? Might very well put up some of the profits. As this is a story of you dreaming of being a Zoo Tycoon, I'm sure you won't like your zoo to go profitless. Increasing prices of some eatables and rides may also do good.

to be honest i didnt actually think of that the only thing is i dont know whether i can adjust prices in the gift shop. im sure i can but not really sure. thanks for reminding me about that :)
