R U insane

Cts are still way better

Hawks won't make it to the granny next year

Premlims probably

Cats will dominate next year

The Cats are over rated. They basically have NO FORWARD LINE, unless they can get Hawkins to fire up next year.

Hawthorn was ALWAYS better then Geelong.

Our peak is better then Geelong's peak.

Hawthorn have the 2nd youngest team in the competition, that's why our consistency isn't as good as Geelong's.

But boy, when we are at our very best there is no team in the league who can beat us.

Geelong looked like they were gonna break the game open during the 2nd and 3rd quarters but Hawthorn were too good for them and nulliyed them from doing so.

Out of the last 5 meetings, Hawthorn have won 4 and Geelong has only won 1 of them.

This is the end of Geelong and the beginning of Hawthorn. Similar to 2001 Grand Final. :D

Hawks are gonna be a fantastic team as they're still a very young team. Expect the Hwaks to dominate like Brisbane in the early 2000's

People said the same thing about Cats last year but football is a funny game , you really cant predict what will happen in the future.

But I do expect Hawks to do well in the next few years.

The Cats are over rated. They basically have NO FORWARD LINE, unless they can get Hawkins to fire up next year.

Gotta agree with that. They really need a big power forward like Brown , Pav or Fev (Mooney is not good enough). But they will come back hard next year. You don't win 23 games in a season (or 43 out of 45) unless you have some talent. Cats and Hawks are still fair way infront of the other teams so I think we could see a re-match in 09 GF.

How many here go on BigFooty?

I know Ben does, with his pathetic trolling in Bay13, and Toby (PPNR) does. Anyone else?

I have a read of BigFooty every now and then, probaly wouldn't sign up. All the posts are so incredibly biased. Where as i can actually admit my bombers are crap:D

Why Hawthorn are a better overall team then Geelong.

* Geelong dominated the Centre Clearances (41-27) & Inside 50s (62-43) in the Grand Final - Hawthorn still beat Geelong.

* Lance 'Buddy' Franklin didn't have his usual second to none influence in the Grand Final - Hawthorn still beat Geelong.

* Geelong had about 4 or 5 questionable goals gifted to them by the umpires throughout the Grand Final - Hawthorn still beat Geelong.

* We had our only reasonable key position defender (Trent Croad) got off with an ankle injury in the 2nd quarter - Hawthorn still beat Geelong.

* We had our best player to that point of the game (Clinton Young) go off the field with injury in the 3rd quarter - Hawthorn still beat Geelong.

* We have also defeated Geelong 4 out of the last 5 times we have played them.

The Grand Final win was no fluke.
Geelong dominated in Center Clearances & Inside 50s, they had their best 22 on the field and they had umpires gifting them goals.

Say what you want but if Geelong had've played any better or any worse; they still would've lost to the better team that is known as the Hawthorn Hawks.

;)

Geelong was far better over the whole season. Ala the win/loss ratio. But i guess it was who was better on the day and the hawks prevailed. Go Crawf!

All those points show is that your win was a fluke, and that you weren't the best team on the day. As for the last 5 meetings, what an irrelevant stat. That includes meetings two years ago when neither of us made the finals. What matters is our meetings this year.

If we'd kicked straight in the second quarter, when we were absolutely dominating, we would have won comfortably. All you won was the battle of accuracy, and in the end we just lost all momentum and you played boring chip around football for the last quarter to deny us the chance to come back.

Croad off? So was our All Australian defender and captain Tom Harley, not to mention Stokes, Kelly and Bartel all having injury troubles throughout the game.

As for the comment about us having no forward line, not true at all, we just don't have any star key forwards. Our small forwards Johnson, Chapman and Stokes are pretty good, but two of them were injured in the Granny.

The umpires kept Geelong in the game for the first 3 quarters of the game with shocking umpiring decisions.
All and all, about 5 of your goals came from dodgy umpiring decisions, along with 2 behinds.
Umpires, weren't giving Franklin any of the freekicks that could've been easily paid. Did you see that one in the 3rd quarter where Scarlett fell over and they called Franklin for throwing him too ground?
But nevertheless, bad kicking is bad football so in that sense you didn't deserve win.

I bet you are really regreting that thread you posted on Bigfooty half way through the year.

:D

And well done for successfully dodging me on msn for the past week.

I told you all along Hawthorn were the better team.

Geelong = 2008 pretenders
Hawthorn = 2008 premiers

gotta say it was great to see the cats losing grandfinals again.

I grew up watching the cats losing finals great to see everythings back to normal.

Hawks will finish top of the ladder next year
09 will be cats last year up near the top before they slide back down.
If bulldogs get a forward expect them to be a threat in the finals.
Dont get ahead of yourselfs hawks an start talkin about dynasties etc etc just ask the eagles an cats fans what happens when u do that.

True that. It doesn't matter how good you do all season, you still gotta show up on the day.

BTW why is Covvy banned?

Do you honestly think that Hawthorn will have to face a better team then the Geelong team of the last 2 years in the several years?
If we can beat them, when we haven't even hit our prime yet then we are capable of anything.
