Post count really isn't that important. You remember quality posters with or without high post counts. Baggy_blogger anyone? We shouldn't be placing a big emphasis on a viewable post count in postbit. If you want to know someone's post count it is easy enough, if you want to see if someone is respectable on the forum by their post count (I wouldn't advise that) then just click on Members list, it is automatically sorted by post count.
We aren't half implementing an idea. Post count removal from postbit will work separately of the other idea we are testing and is related to the reputation system. Members didn't say that, but we as a staff team chose these moves and many people are pleased with this move. The last question. The point is that post count in the postbit was used as a bragging tool, that was obvious from what the milestones thread had turned in to. We are trying to place emphasis on post quality rather than post quantity. We think this is one way of doing it. If it doesn't work, we'll think again. The reps system really had turned away from what it was intended for and was used as a tool of communication rather than as a way of giving a post +/- reps, I admit I used it like that a bit of the time. We have removed it's value and are looking at a replacement system. As for the new systems implementation, I can't say when it will be in place, if indeed it is compatible.
On user feedback. People never actually gave any ideas as to what we could do. If you have an idea, then tell us. We used our experience and came up with what we think will work.
