Call of Duty 4 or Left 4 Dead?

I just can't decide between these two, but I'm edging towards CoD 4 because it has proper singleplayer as well. One guy said don't buy it because it's full of hackers. What does that mean? Can people hack your PC through an online game, or is this guy just being paranoid?

Anyway, hackers aside, which is the best online experience (I know CoD4's campaign is quite short, although I always play on the hardest level straight from the off)? Does Left 4 Dead have stats tracking (kills, deaths etc), unlockables and special abilities like CoD4 does?

Ah yes, I know a lot of that goes on in CoD 5 as well, always idiots on Youtube posting up these glitches! You'd expect them to have been patched by now, the game's been out for quite a while, hasn't it? What's Left 4 Dead like as far as glitches/cheats go? And have both games got dedicated servers for the UK?

I'm finding CoD 4 for ?29.99 and Left 4 Dead ?26.99, and that's pretty much across the board at places like play.com, Game, HMV, Gameplay, all the usual suspects. (I'm talking new copies here, not Ebay or anything like that). I've read there are some issues getting onto servers with Left 4 Dead.

Edit: Which one would give a 4850 512mb the best run for its money?

Anyway, what have been your experiences of getting online with both games? Is one better than the other in that respect? Maybe I should go with Left 4 Dead, as I already have quite a few FPS games that I need to get through?

Cod4 is one of the best games I've ever played. Online is fantastic (bar the glitchers). The story mode is great but a bit short to be honest. Other than that, it's a great game. One of the best.

Has anyone modded the excellent Nazi Zombie mode from CoD 5 into Cod 4? I love that on PS3 (that's why I'm not looking at CoD 5 for PC just now).

I've also read a lot about Left 4 Dead having too many laggy servers. When did CoD 4 Modern Warfare come out? It might just come down to which one's likely to come out on budget first at this rate.

Decided to go with Left 4 Dead, as I've already got some CoD games in the house and I haven't got any zombie games at all. Ordered it from GAME, ?26.99 - ?5 loyalty points, so ?21.99 in total. Not too bad!

You can get new games on ebay. There are ebay stores that sell new stuff.
