Quite true. But you could have put his name because he has been a very successful ODI batsman.
Its Sachin according to me (according to me, he is the best in the world and I dont care wat others think)

Sachin is the best. No where did I dispute that. But Dravid has been an intergral and a very, very, very important part of India's ODI and Test setup throughout his career. Tendulkar has many patches of injuries and bad form, who stepped up then? Dravid. Dravid has all ways been there for us, and for you to not even include him in the poll when Gambhir and Sehwag make the list is downright sad.

In test dravid is better than sachin??? I doubt brother. Dravid's Overall stats are no way better than Sachin's. And Against Australia,again dravid is poor. Avg 42 with 2 centuries wheras sachin avg 57 with 10 centuries. In the matches india has won,there is a almost tie. Dravid avg 66,while Sachin avg 65. So Once again No matter what it is, ODI orTest,Sachin >>Dravid

Too harsh on Dravid.... You are making your arguments with his current form in your mind. For most part of his ODI career (which is what we are talking about), he has been a premier ODI batsman and has been a big match winner for India. The third guy after Tendulkar and Ganguly to be mentioned in this poll should be DRAVID!

Leaving this Dravid Topic, i am surprised that Saurav has not recieved even a single vote while Gauti got 2.
Dont bring tests here coz we are talking about ODI's (in tests, Dravid can easily stake claim for the best Indian batsman because he is Mr. Dependable in tests and has been more dependable than Sachin).

Well, i think you should be able to perfrom against the best team in the world if you are Mr. Dependable. His Stats agaisnt Aus tells a different story. Just to remind you how dravid got this socalled dependable tag. between 2004-2006 tendulkar was injured or playing with injury,thus was inconsistant. Otherwise between 1992-2003,2007-2009 tendulkar has been more consistant than any other batsman. dont forget Tendulkar allways carried the Crap indian team's load on his back throughout 90's. The biggest difference between Tendulkar and Dravid is that Tendulkar can play a Dravid inning if match situation require that,but dravid cannot play a Tendulkar inning even if he wants too. He just aint so gift.

Wow, you are so biased I am not even going to bother. I concede that Tendulkar is better than Dravid in ODIs but for you not to even include him is pure idiocy and is a testament to your lack of knowledge. Dravid is a better test batsman that Sachin and don't bring his average into this because he's hit a bad patch. Everyone's allowed one and he's shown signs of coming out of it. Don't try to dispute the test match argument because I am not going to agree.

If he is the best test player tehn why he has not performed against the best team in the world where sachi has excelled? Is it that hard to answer? As far as consistency goes, sachin has 8 years in which he has scored over 1000 runs whereas dravid has just 2. He is just called dependable coz media and public loves nicknames. They had to praise dravid so they came up only with mr. dependable, as master blaster,rockstar,etc explosive names wouldnt justfy his style. So Mr. Dependable is just a nickname. He has not performed against the best team thus he is not best in my book.
P.S: I didnt intentionally missed dravid from the poll, i just forgot...

Sachin has won more matches than Dravid, Sachin Avg more than dravid, Sachin has Performed a lot better against Aus. Sachin has better overall record in both test and ODI. Sachin names induces fear in the opposition bowlers not dravid. Dravid has just a few innings of class to show against the sachin's whole abundance of classic innings. Overall as a batsman everyone knows who has a wider range of shots and gifted technique. You had to be mad to rate dravid over Sachin.
