Irfan Pathan's all-round show powered Baroda to victory against Saurashtra on another day for bowlers to savour at the Moti Bagh Stadium. Cheteshwar Pujara was the only Saurashtra batsman to come to terms with the track, making 71 (next highest 15) before he was the last man out as his side was rolled over for 137. It has been a match has swung from one side to the next, and Saurashtra's batting let them down once again after their bowlers had wrung out a first-innings lead on Tuesday. Irfan took the opening wicket before grabbing the final three in the space of six deliveries. Firdaush Bhaja
also finished with four, running through the middle-order. Baroda lost three batsmen in their chase of 141 but Irfan blasted a 45-ball 65 to clinch the win which dented Saurashtra's hopes of making the quarter-finals

I know this is domestic cricket but Irfan taking 7 wickets and scoring around 60 runs in a low scoring game. He also earlier said in one of the interviews on news channel that Sree's comeback has given him the ray of light and he wants to give his best performance whether he bat's or bowls..

So what do you think ? if he performs well in ranji for around 5-6 months will we see him back in the squad?

Irfan, if he can keep his bowling up to a decent level, can be a major player for us in one day internationals and T20. His batting has always been very good. Its his bowling which has been so poor that he was eventually dropped from the side. He needs to shore up his bowling. Find that swing that made him such a deadly weapon initially. Learn to bowl when the conditions dont aid swing or movement. Him and RP Singh are rendered a waste if the conditions dont help them and their wayward line makes it even worse.

Hope Irfan comes back. I love to see him in action. I also want to see Robin Uthappa back. That T20 winning side was awesome. It should be back.

Sorry saw now.. please some body move it cricket discussion.. by mistakely started the thread here:facepalm:facepalm

Definitely India's most promising all round option at the moment. Better option than Yusuf/Jadeja.

Still remember his hat trick during the 1st 3 balls of a Test, or was that Zaheer Khan?

na that was him against Pakistan, early morning, lots of moisture, green pitch. Not going to get those all the time. Thats the one that produced that great knock by Kamran Akmal.

It was the last 3 balls of the first over, the amount of swing there was amazing.

The one that got Younus Khan is what left arm seamers dream of

That match was awesome.. unfortunately india lost that match

After the swing went away from the wicket he couldn't do anything. Neither could his other 2 left handed team mates. In Pakistan 2nd innings 1st 7 guys made fifties and all had strike rates of 60+.
He relies too much on swing and not enough on line and length and seam.

That is why he is out of the team with poor form

Irfan also let his success go to his head. He started talking to too many people and tinkering with his action.
