Chennai Super Kings bought some really excellent players in the DLF IPL 2011 auction. Best thing about CSK side is that, they are led by a victorious captain, MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni's confidence will be sky high because he is now a world cup winning captain. He led his side to a victorious win over Sri Lanka in cricket World Cup 2011 final. He didn't only led his side to a magnificent win over Sri Lanka as a captain but also as a player. He made 91* in the final. Now, he has another big task in his hand and that is to take the CSK side to IPL glory, again. Yes, CSK won the IPL last year and they will be looking to retain the DLF IPL title. Dhoni has a wonderful side to lead. CSK are a side that has got many match winners and not a single player can take it easy and not perform because a lot of quality players will be sitting on the bench and hoping to get selecting in the playing XI. It should be an exciting campaign. Follow Chennai Super Kings's campaign in IPL 2011.

How fixtures work?
As there are 10 teams, there are two groups created, group A and group B. In each group, one team plays the rest 4 teams twice. You don't expect one team to play the rest nine teams twice, do you? Come on, players are also human beings. This time around there wont be a semi final between the best 4 teams. After the group stages, the team that will finish at 1st will play the team that will be at 2nd position in qualifier 1. The team that loses in the qualifier 1 will not pack their bags and go home, they will have another chance to reach to the final. In eliminator, team that will be on 3rd positions in the points table will play the team at 4th position in the points table, in the eliminator. Team that wins eliminator 1, will play the team that lost in qualifier 1. Basically, the teams that will be on 1st and 2nd positions will have a great chance to make it to the final.

Above are all the main players of all the teams. All the teams look solid, you just cannot say that any of the team doesn't have the talent to make it to the final of IPL season 4. With all the teams looking evenly balanced. It should be interesting to see which team plays well on the field. Playing well on the field matters, your team might be good on the paper but if it doesn't perform on the field, one just cannot say that it's a good team.

First post presentation would have looked good if he written passage was above the squad pics. Cant say much about the rest as all of it is based on reality. Waiting to see something creative from you!
Don't worry about the first post. I haven't really spend much time on it at the moment. Before the main matches start, I'll be posting about each and every player of the CSK squad.
We know that CSK has a really strong side but people don't know a lot about some players. Let’s know a little bit more in detail about each and every player of the CSK squad.
Batsmen
Suresh Raina has made a name for himself in the last few years in t20 cricket. We all know how capable player he is, once he gets going, it's very hard to stop him. His highest score in IPL is of 98. He'll be looking forward to make 2 more runs in future when he reaches to 98 and reach to a century. Isn't it frustrating getting out in 90's, Raina will have the answer.
Murali Vijay had a dream run in the last years IPL. He was just brilliant with the bat and even managed to make a century. He'll be hoping to do something similar this time and tell the selectors that there is a talented bloke who deserves a place in the Indian team playing XI, if Gambhir or Sehwag aren't playing.
Michael Hussey, also known as Mr.Cricket usually opens for CSK. Well, he did open for them in the last season and might open this time around as well. It isn't a normal position for him but he has been performing well as a opener. He usually takes a little time in settling down but once he settled down, he can easily clear the boundary and play the big shots plus his fielding is always excellent. He's surely a good man to have in your side.
Badri, is a really talented player. His performance in the first class cricket has been amazing but somehow on the international level, he hasn't done justice to his talent. This tournament should be a great chance for him to showcase his talent.
Vasudeva plays for Tamil Nadu in the first class cricket. He averages 34 with the bat in first class cricket. He hasn't really got a chance to play in the IPL and if he gets a chance to play this year, in the playing XI that is, he will be really looking forward to take the full advantage of the opportunity.
Bailey plays for Tasmania in the Australian domestic cricket. He's a really powerful hitter of the ball and has the capability of clearing the boundary easily. Someone who follows Australian domestic cricket will know his capabilities and will also know that he can be a very dangerous player in t20's.
Anirudh's father, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, would perhaps have been a great t20 player but his son can be a good t20 player too. Anirudh might not be as attacking cricket as his father but he is a talented young man and has been performing well in first class cricket. If he plays well this year, who knows, he might be part of the Indian team. His father is the selector after all.
Fellow opening partner of Anirudh in first class cricket, Abhinav has been just excellent in first class cricket. He averages 59 with the bat in first class cricket and he is just of 21 years old. He's a bright future for the Indian team and what better than show casing your talent in the IPL and gaining some popularity.
Bowlers
Dougie has gain some popularity among the cricket fans over the last few years and why not, he's a great character to have in your team. He's someone who always gives his 100 percent for his team in every match.
Ashwin has made some odi presences for the Indian team in the last year or so and it would be fair to say that he has impressed a lot. In this year’s IPL, he has a good chance to bowl to some really talented international players and see how he is against big players.
Sudeep Tyagi is a very fine pace bowler. He has played few odi's for the Indian team as well but hasn't really done justice to his talent. It should be interesting to see whether he gets to play in the playing XI and if he does whether he impresses or not.
Young fast bowler from New Zealand, Tim Southee has been really impressive over the last few years. Not only with the bowl but also with the bat, he has made some crucial contributions. Some really crucial knocks with the bat have proved that he is not someone who doesn't know how to bat.
Kulasekara is an amazing swing bowler. His pace isn't the best but his talent of swinging the ball both the ways is just terrific. Surely not a easy bowl to hit, even in t20 cricket.
Hero of t20 cricket world cup in 2007, Joginder suddenly found himself in the spotlight. Though, after the t20 world cup in 2007, he hasn't really been part of the Indian side for long but IPL should be a good chance for him to show how he is bowling currently, that is, if he gets a chance to play.
Yo Mahesh played for Delhi Daredevils in the last three seasons and bowled well in patches.
Keepers
Does this man need any introduction? MS Dhoni's team won 50 over world cup just few days ago. He has another big task ahead, of winning the IPL for his franchises. Can he do it? Follow this story and know.
Wriddhiman played a test match for India few months ago, he is a very good keeper and a fine batsman. West Indies tour is next to follow after IPL, can he make it to the Indian team because there are rumors that the senior players might be rested for the series.
All rounders
This hard hitting batsman from South Africa can easily clear the boundary and with the ball, he's more than useful. A bit inconsistent though, but he is a good all rounder to have in your team. Should be interesting to see how he performs this year for the CSK.
This man from West Indies team is a superb athlete, Dwayne Bravo is the name. Bravo is another really good all rounder. Bravo has struggled with injuries from the last few years but now he is fully fit and rearing to go. Surely a player to look forward to!
Scotty Styris, from New Zealand is a really experienced man. His experience will come in really handy for Dhoni. It's always good to have a experienced man in your line up.
Faf Du Plessis was part of South Africa's team in the 50 over world cup earlier this year and performed well. Some handy performances with the bat as well as the ball, gained him a contract with CSK. He will be looking forward to do justice to his selection.
Suraj Randiv is known more as a bowler than a all rounder but he isn't someone who doesn't know how to bat. Let’s see whether he makes any crucial contribution with the bat in this year’s IPL that is only if he gets to bat and play.
Ganapathi Vignesh, is not a very popular player but he is a fine cricketer. He can bowl and bat a bit. Hasn't really done anything special, not even in the first class cricket but does have the talent to be a good all rounder.
Shadab Jakati, again someone who is not known much for his batting but he has done really well for CSK over the last 3 years with the ball and will be looking forward to do the same this year. So that he can have a chance of playing for the Indian team in the near future.
So, that's basically the role of every player in the CSK squad. Now, we all know what role an individual has in the CSK side. The best thing about CSK side is that, they have quite a few all rounders. Obviously, the best thing with all rounders is that, even if they don't have a good time with the bat they can always make it up with the ball. If they don't have a good time with both, then they should at least field well to save their place in the playing XI. CSK have a good mixture of experienced players as well as players who are new to the international level cricket. Experienced members can always guide the new cricketers and this is where IPL is very helpful. You get to take advances from senior cricketers and those advices do help a lot in improving your cricket.
With IPL, just few days away, the CSK staff will be stressing their mind to think which player should get a chance in the playing XI. CSK will be playing their first match against KKR at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai. KKR team, have got a solid squad. It won’t be a easy task to defeat them but then CSK have got the talent to do so. Should be a great match that, should be interesting to see which team comes up as winner and starts the DLF IPL Season 4 with a win.
Yeah, I'm supporting Mumbai and CSK this season. Although I was supporting Delhi over the last 3 years but there team is just not worth supporting this season. They depend too much on Sehwag where as CSK is concern, they always play as a unit and that's what I like about them. They don't depend on any individual.
Set Max, India times, Youtube, and Planet cricket win the telecasting rights
All the known sporting channels participated in the bidding. Yes, the channels needed to bid to gain the broadcasting rights. The channel that placed the highest bid won the broadcasting rights and that channel was Set Max. Like they have been over the last three years, Set Max, will continue broadcasting DLF Ipl for the next three years on tv.
People can even enjoy the Dlf Ipl on net even, Youtube along with IndiaTimes have won the rights to telecast it on net. You can also follow the live updates regarding the match on planet cricket. Follow the matches on planet cricket and what more? You can even win some rewards, like vcash.
New technologies will be used this year for the IPL like Spider cam, hawk eye, hot spot are the few technologies to name. This season is surely going to be interesting. Get ready, IPL is coming!
Chennai Super Kings unveil their jersey for DLF IPL season 4
Chennai Super Kings have unveiled their jersey for DLF IPL season 4. The jersey is sponsored by big companies like : Gulf, Aircel, Coromandel King Super Cement and Reebok. The jersey design is very similar to what it was in the last three seasons.
It is being said that CSK owner is quite superstitious and so he didn't wanted to do much changes to his team's kit. After all, his team has been the most consistent team in the IPL. Finalists in season 1, semi finalists in season 2, winners in season 3 and in season 4, who knows?
Can the men in yellow continue their dominance in IPL? Men in yellow again, no changes to jersey after all. Beware all the teams, men in yellow are coming.
The Aircel logo is quite small but it doesn't matter here as it's the story section. Please drop Dhoni for a match or two so I'll support CSK in those games
