Don Bradman Cricket 14 - Issues and Anomalies after patch 2 [PS3/360]

Because of the saved game issue, I had totally forgotten a little error that I noticed.

When getting a batsmen out caught, edge or otherwise, the screen that pops up when the Umpire gives it out says C and B R WEBB, rather than the actual person who caught the ball. When going to scorecard, it displays the wicket details correctly. Its not a biggy but just something I spotted.

Just to prove Biggs point about practice, here's me bowling an over of bouncers with Steyn, to Gayle - who isn't exactly short:

It's on the PC version, but I'm sure there's not been any adjustment to bounce or anything in the small patches since release.

I'm one the ps3 and in career. Do you also get problems with the balls carrying through to wicket keeper. I can get a bouncer over the batsmanship head easily but it's slow because I've got to miss time it do do it.

My other question is it happening on a specific game mode, or across all modes? Over count, are you batting/bowling at the time... Etcetera.

My game freezes I'm every single game mode, I.e. Practice nets, career, tour, casual etc... This happens Regardless if I'm batting or howling, how many overs I play, or if the game is finished, when it comes to saving it always freezes. I have played the game off the disc installed it, uninstalled it, deleted my save profile, moved it to the cloud, moved it back to the hard drive and it still freezes. Have no idea what to do now as I can't play the game, unless I go back to the older version before the patch.

I only play career. Post patch just started new career with Worcs, played entirety of first game as bowling allrounder, did quite well with bat and ball so entire game took maybe 2 hours. Save and exit on completion of match. Game froze when saving.

Second time after deleting everything DBC from my Xbox - stuck disc in, downloaded patch as prompted, updated all teams in academy (not get best)as I had a fresh profile, started career with my player downloaded from academy, first game Worcs v Glamorgan, we batted first got 400 odd, bowled them out for 200 and had them follow on. Bowled 20 overs of their second innings with me coming on in 20th and bowling only one over. Saved and exited, froze.

Total overs in the game maybe 160-170, time taken around 60 mins.

Hasn't happened on career (admittedly haven't played it much since update 2 and I'm a specialist batsman). Once online. 6 times competition. Usually after playing for a long while, but once it wasn't (only time I've played a resumed game though). Batting and bowling equally shared. 4 times playing custom competition and match type. Twice just regular knockouts. Happened when playing as Ireland (once) and England (others). Can't remember the overs, but usually halfway thorough a 52 over innings.

Any more details and I'll try to supply.

It sounds like it's going to be a tough one to replicate but we'll be on it until we do.

but it seems to me that the error occurs while the game switches out of cricket play mode to score mode maybe? - some kind of wonky "get" statement?

I've now managed to save some dummy careers and save at different points in the game, but I have yet to complete a match. Just started a career so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I'm genuinely gutted for you that you can't play the game

@Dougie1 Any bit of information helps, many a bug is found by non-programmers - indeed it's the bloody programmers who put the bugs in there in the first place!

save exit freez. Was trying to add a field setting as I lost my amended ones when I re-installed. Oh well, at least I don't have a Golden Duck to my name!

Ross, this is a bit of a long shot, but could the save error be something to do with linking a human created player into the career? Its strange that when I make no changes to the career player I'm given, and run as a test it saves, but as soon as I copy across a player it doesn't save.

Just had my game save twice with no problem. Once on career mode after the nets, and once in casual. No idea why it's saving my game now, haven't done anything different.

So I play on xbox 360 and I had the save issue so I wasn't playing the game.. But I got sick of not playing and decided to delete everything dbc off my xbox and then I restarted it and downloaded the patch and the teams again, then disconnected my xbox from the net (which I hadn't tried before) and it seems fine now, but has anyone else tried playing offline?
Like it looks like it's about to freeze but then just works, so maybe I'm lucky or maybe something about online is messing with it?
And I do have a legit copy.
