Medium pacers are making this game indigestible

Have you experienced any trouble facing medium pacers?

It's sickening to see how medium pacers are being exploited in this game. I have played with many people who bowl these unplayable slow deliveries, soo slow that often the bowl bounces on the pitch after pitching. It's extremely difficult to time these deliveries even if you tend to play defensive.

It took me awhile to find out how people bowl these unplayable deliveries and I've finally come to a conclusion and determined how it's done.

So what happens is that people select medium pacers, particularly "Shane Watson" and "Jacques Kallis" and then they select "SHORT PITCH" and when the bowler starts run-up they'd hold down LB and push the analog down (for slower ball) at about 40 degrees and then push it forward at around 170 degrees which makes it further short pitched ball and that's it, completely unplayable. Only way to play such deliveries is to dance down the pitch but that isn't always effective and more often than not you'll be caught easily.

Just to be clear, I did not create this thread to teach people this silly flawed bowling, I just want Ross to take notice of this and fix this nagging flaw.

Furthermore people also add variation to these slow deliveries which makes it nearly impossible to play, the best way to fix this issue would be to make medium pacers a bit faster but there's always alternatives. @Ross please look into this issue and fix it once and for all.

Thank you

If it bounces twice, it should be a no-ball

And exploits like that are why you'll never find me playing online. I learned my lesson back in the BBS days, when a 9.6k modem was fast ...

That's the thing, it should be given as dead ball but it's not. It doesn't always bounce twice though but when it does, it's impossible to touch the bowl and when it doesn't even then it's nearly impossible to time it well.

I mostly play with my friend and all he does is bowl in one line with different slow variation, when I try to play attacking shots towards leg, I get LBW, when I try to play ON side, I get bowled, no matter where I play, I either miss or get bowled or caught.

He says it's part of the game and I have no right to call it otherwise. It makes me sick, I bowl with fast mostly and he can't even easily read my bowling. I get him all out for less than 40 in 10 overs match every time and then he comes up with his all out medium attack and keeps bowling in one area, all I can is stop and attempt singles but close fielding gets me run out, when I try to play attacking shots, I either miss or get caught -,-

Other friend of mine who plays normally, I scored 86 in 5 overs against him even though he's more experienced, that just goes to tell how unplayable flawed medium pacers are.

Your friend isn't much of a friend if he's purposely bowling shit deliveries. I play online all the time with a few folks here and with the exception of accidental poor deliveries, no-one i play bowls shitty deliveries to get a win. if they did, I wouldn't play em any more. That of course, doesn't change the weird deliveries you can bowl with spinners and medium pace bowlers (which should be looked at) but a lot of the time it comes down to personal management of playing the right kind of people online because no matter what Big Ant do to manage this stuff in the game, cheats are always going to find a way to cheat the system.

Every time I play a random person online they have a team stacked full of 5-star rated players and they think they're being so clever. That's why the normalise skills check-box should be default. Just as one example... but no matter what is done to correct these exploits assholes will always find a way to be assholes.

I thought it was changed to three a while back. AB de villiers got out to a double in a test a few years ago.

Legitimate, but very unsporting

Yeah, I checked again. They have changed it, except in English FCC. My bad :/

Here`s hoping the slow balls from all bowler gets a look in , but especially the Spinners and Medium pacers slow balls , that bowled Short but shows as Green or Yellow .

Ive mentioned this ad infinitum , but the only way is as mentioned above , to build up a reputable database of players , that doesnt bowl as dickheads , or join one of the many

online leagues , where this sort of bowling is outlawed.

I use a theory when I play online with random guys. Most of the time If I win Toss, I choose to Bat. If my opponent doesn't bowl Slow Short balls, even I dont when its my turn to bowl. But if he bowls these deliveries then I too use these balls when he is batting. And if I loose the toss and ask to bowl 1st, I make it a point not to ball those slow short deliveries and if my opponent try to bowl those I have already learned know how to play those balls, so I dont mind it.

So basically the Medium Pace bowlers need more fiber in their diet?

There's a simple two part solution to the problem...

1. Fix the max and minimum speed of the bowlers to within 15 to 20 kph for every kind of bowler. In a 2 dimensional video game it's difficult to perceive speed of the delivery so makes sense to reduce the change in speed. 15 kph difference is still good enough to mess up the timing but not enough to be a cheap tactic. I propose the following speed variations for various bowler types...

Fast: 155 - 135 kph (20 kph difference is reasonable for a genuine quick)
Fast Medium: 140 - 126 kph
Medium: 125 - 110 kph
(let's face it, which medium pacer bowls slower than 125 as top speed and slower than 110 as a slower delivery?)
Spinners: 100 - 86 kph

2. Second part of the solution is to increase the timing of the cr@ppy deliveries. If you face a slow long hop from a slow medium pacer or a spinner, you will have no issues in despatching the deliveries easily and that's what needs to happen in the game. Slow half trackers should be easy to hammer and not act as some sort of lethal weapon in the game. If point 1 is incorporated then this becomes a moot point but it would still be good to hammer a long hop by a spinner.

they are atleast better to what you will find online....

yes but a douchebag user doing something ridiculous to beat a stranger online, and the game mechanic being plain wrong and allowing the AI to do ridiculous things are completely different.

it's next to impossible to legislate for people being douchebags, programming the AI to be a douchebag is another kettle of fish
