Pakistan's tour of England - August/September - 3 Tests/3 T20Is

But my point is why wasn't Shadab used earlier when Pakistan had more than 180-190 to defend ? He would've bowled lot better then. It was the lack of runs to defend made him bowl some defensive lines and lengths. They could've bowled Shadab and Yasir together to keep the pressure on England. Now if you give probably your best bowler in the side less than 100 runs to defend having 2 set batsman on crease how will he be much effective ?
Agree. He bowled 12 overs in the entire match, when it was spinning.

Because he is arguably one of the best batsmen in the Pakistan domestic structure (assuming you’re talking about Fawad Alam)...

He has a first class average of 57 with the bat, with 34 centuries. How can you ignore a batsman like that?
But then he had to get his chances earlier. Do you think he can actually do that at International level at the age of 34 ? I doubt.

There wasn’t any solid reason of leaving him out. It’s been 5 years since I have been here in the cricket discussion forum, have been seeing Pakistan fans asking for Alam to be picked since then :p

Exactly. Just because he was unjustifiably overlooked earlier, you can’t now say "He should’ve been picked earlier, he’s too old now". Btw, he’s among the fittest players. His age hasn’t affected him that much.

Any news on who will come in? Who do we think? Move Pope and Buttler up let him just bat and bring Foakes in to keep and see how that goes?

You imagine it'll be Crawley in at 3 and everyone move down 1. No danger in even nearly bringing another keeper near the team, what if he takes a catch and Jos doesnt get any runs. Ed can't have questions about Golden Boy
