PES2008 Demo

Having played the PES demo to death now with the demo expander, I find myself liking it the more I play. I tried comparing it to FIFA08, which I rented yesterday.

Ball physics seem to the major grip in this years FIFA. To many who have never played PES, they will look stunning. To those who have played PES in the past, especially 5 and 6, they will look like the ball is in zero G.

The problem with FIFA is that you dont feel like you are kicking a real ball. It pings around the pitch like on puppet strings. I feel you get the real weight on the PES ball, as if you feel the player kicking it.

I was however impressed with this years FIFA, which I must say is a much better effort than previous years. Of course, we cant judge until the full PES is released, but it looks like a corker. FIFA appears though to be trying to hard to be PES, which seems to get it closer every year. Could they ever collide and make the perfect game perhaps?

Anyone on for a match on FES?

I feel the ball in FIFA seems much better, PES2008 the short passes fly about like a celebraty sex rumour, gave the PES demo another go and it just feels so fast, straight away first attack hit the post then had a dozzen other shots, wish they'd slow it down a bit....

This is turning into the best football game i've ever played. Why can't I have the full game right now?!

I've just scored a beautifully ugly goal with Torres. Had a shot from about 25 yards which was aimed to the right, hit one of the Brazilian defenders en route and deflected into the bottom left hand corner, which completely beat the keeper's dive to the right. Such a realistic thing to happen that you just don't see in FIFA.

Seen it plenty of times since I got FIFA08 I used to think it was only in PES too, but I was wrong. Had a similar goal ball came out to Anderson he belted it, stayed low and hit a defenders outstretched leg and totally decived the goalie!

(sorry I know it's a PES thread....)

I reckon I'll be buying this purley for online purposes I still feel PES will have the best online feeling...

Is it just Newcastle and Spurs? Very weird choices if that is the case.
So what, on PC it can be patched so everyone is licensed...

It can be patched on next gen now. Full edit-mode now

I take it you don't play on Top Player, Punk... Or if you do you either must be very skilled or cheat...

Nah I don't usually play Professional, but even still I find 4* bit easier than I did on PES6. I struggled on 3* one PES6....

Crap choices. Tottenham, bottom 3 team and Newcastle...the great pretenders.

Well, you must know something I don't because I didn't know you could use star levels on PES6 or PES2008 :.
You can't really judge the game's AI when not playing on the highest difficulty (Top Player in PES).

I call it '*' because I cba to write, professional, regular etc...
