Best batsman today ?

Kallis by a mile.

So under rated, he has the second best batting average (excluding people like Hussey who haven't played many games) in world cricket!

No way underrated. Infact Chanderpaul has been underrated. he might look ugly while batting but hes sure effective with scoring 50 every time he bats these days.

Ganguly's a shocking batsman IMO. I'm supprised his had any International success at all to be honest & he always looks awkward and uncomfortable at the crease.

A batting average at 42 batting in a stronger team compared to a batting average of 47 batting in a weaker team doesn't support your opinion.

Why? Because Ponting has the highest batting average of anyone in the current era and an Indian just can't hack it that someone's better then Tendulkar?

are you nuts, comparing ponting to tendulkar,
if you are so inclined on averages then for afact tendulkar averaged above 60
on e time and against better bowlers ,and mainly ponting cant play spin hahahhaha

even ganguly is better than pontiong,oh i am better than him when playing spin is concerned

No way. Kallis has a higher average than Tendulkar, Hayden, ect ect all the big name players but he never gets mentioned. He also bowls really well to.

Just because he struggles against Harbhajan singh does not mean he can't play spin. Tendulkar struggled against McGrath, so going by your logic Tendulkar can't play pace bowling?

If you read it correctly it says no way underrated. No where have i mentioned hes not good. Hes dynamite and nowdays has picked up his strike rate also (or maybe its windies bowling).

tendulkar got hundreds then got out to mcgrath, also kallis always play well on bowling friendly tracks and has average higher than pontings so he is also better than him

if you were to look at all the good players today and say who is the most valuable to their team the obvious one is Murli for Sri Lanka, than people would say Ponting, KP, some other people but Kallis is waaaaay more valuable than all those guys.

he has a average of 58 i think it is or somthing like that and he has over 200+ test wickets and ODI wickets, he is just so damn good but he goes under the radar because when people look at him all thye think is his batting rarely anybody considers his bowling, but than thats not what the thread is about.

at the moment on this form best batsman are Chanderpaul and Sangakkara.

i think you are bit angry as tendulkar is scoring hundreds and your punter
is been exposed to spin

Alright then, I'll use a different example. Brian Lara, Mcgrath got him out for less than 10 countless amounts of times, Lara can't play pace bowling?

And.. WRONG once again.

Kallis Average: 58.01

Ponting Average: 58.35

Pontings is higher.

And by the way, you can't have an average of over 50 and not be able to play spin bowling.

in australia, the pitches are great for batting against spin or pace
and the bowling faced australians is mediocore compared to other players as they had some of the best bowlers in the world,
and in the 1990's when all the countries had decent att cks, hayden could not even get in to the team po nti ng was a veraging

I know, I think Kallis is a better player than him. You are just backing me up tard.

Kallis batting on the minefields of SA..

Tendulkar batting on dead subcontinent wickets.

Theres your answer.

Kallis>Tendulkar going off your logic?

who said tracks are dead in india, there is reverse swing after 15 overs and
bounce is low with spin, which is very difficult to score ,i think only pakistan has dead tracks

so Tendulkar cannot be compared to anybody as he has had amazing consistency against some feared bowling attacks scoring runs ,so he is the epitome of batting along with lara and kallis is the best allround cricketer of the mordern era
everywhere from 1989 till date
