Pathan Strikes Early!
( McCullum Dismissed for a Golden Duck )

mccullumoutbv5.jpg

Well, both the umpires came out to the field and following them were the Indian players. Then came NZ openers, McCullum & Vincent. The opening pair is a great experimentation & its the first time these two are opening in this series. Dravid gave Pathan the new ball and was busy in setting the field. After everything was set ready, umpire asked to proceed and as expected, there was a huge roar when Pathan started his runner up.

The very first ball which Pathan bowled was put away to single by a beautiful legglance from Vincent. Dravid was very much contented to maintain the same field set for McCullum too. Suprise thing is, he had two slips for Pathan :p To everyone's suprise, Pathan striked in very second ball of his spell.

He delivered a slow ball which is short pitched. Any batsmen after seeing this wud definitely go for a huge one as there was no movement of the ball. McCullum did the same by going for a aggressive pull shot which made the ball to travel high in the air. It was very unfortunate that ball didn't find enough distance & it landed safely in Harbhajan's hands. Dravid & Pathan were delighted a lot though it was a poor delivery.

Dravid & his men gathered together for the celebration. This is the kind of start India needed. McCullum walked back to the dressing room with first ball duck. The roaring noise from excitement among Indian fans increased further. Astle replaced McCullum at the crease. In very first ball, Astle smashed a beautiful four in straight which alerted Indian players not to get excited too much becos of the early wicket. The over ended with seven runs and a wicket.

Well, just one over ended. The early wicket of McCullum should have added a bit pressure on Kiwis. But still a plenty of batting to come. So tough job ahead for Indian captain. Also, Kiwis shd be watchful at the sametime and make sure that they don't loose wickets within first 15 Overs. Still, Lot of works left to do for both the teams :)

NewZealand :- 7/1(1)
N.Astle : 6*(4)
L.Vincent : 1*(1)

McCullum : 0(1) Dismissed by Pathan.

Tsk tsk tsk, opening up with McCullum again and he gets a golden duck. Good start for India but these two can take the game away from an opposition in no time.
