Match Introduction - Coin Toss

GAME 6

"Well we had the benefit of batting first on this pitch yesterday and it was absolutly fantastic. Its nice and hard and the ball just came onto the bat so nicely. We will have a bat first on this and hope that we can get off to the same start and use the same mentality against this very strong but inexperienced team"

Rahul Dravid
(Indian Captain)

"Yeah Rahul is right it looks a belter of a pitch and im sure that batting first would have been a great advantage. But this match is all about indroducing some new talent and resting some of the tired guys who do need a real rest. This will be a great chance for guys like Taity, Clark, Bracks and the new boys Cam White and Dan Cullen to test themselves and see where we are at."

Ricky Ponting
(Australian Captain)

Teams Take To The Field

Ricky Ponting has lead his young charges onto the GABBA under beautiful Queensland conditions as they prepare to begin game 6 of the VB series against India. With the finals decided, Australia will be hoping young potential stars Shaun Tait, Dan Cullen and company will fire against a red hot Indian batting lineup.

but that was most likely a wake up call and now they will be looking for revenge!!

australia and pakistan are probably the only teams in the world who could be called the comeback kings..(pakistan is just ahead of aus in that list)

Bracken With A Huge Breakthrough - India 1/7

New ball bowler Nathan Bracken made the crucial breakthrough of the innings as India slumped to 1/7. Mahendra Dhoni, the form player of the competition, was the man to depart in only the 4th over of play after punching a cover drive to Ricky Ponting at cover.

It was the key wicket early after Dhoni has taken both Australia and Pakistan appart in previous matches. Bracken revelling in the chance to take the new ball with the departures of Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath at the top of the bowling pecking order.

Tendulkar Continues Run Of Form - India 1/37 (10)

Sachin Tendulkar has carried on his form from his blistering innings in yesterdays match against Pakistan with a strong start against Australia at the GABBA. Tendulkar has come out firing with 27 from 32 balls while Virender Sehwag has looked terrible, scratching around with only 3 from 20 balls. Indian hopes will remain high after losing only 1 wicket, hopefully the men in blue can repeat their performance from the Pakistan clash where they posted 302.

Star batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag have put India back on track with a solid 50 run partnership to take India to 57 for the loss of only 1 wicket. Tendulkar is running hot on 34 while Virender Sehwag is starting to find his feet on 15.

Tendulkar Plays The Lead - India 1/72 (20)

Sachin Tendulkar continued to lead from the front with an unbeaten 40 to take India to be 1/72 after 20 overs at the GABBA. Tendulkar has struck 5 boundaries and two sixes in his 62 ball innings, while Virender Sehwag is gradually working his way into the match with an unbeaten 23 from 50 balls.

In a positive for Australia, new bowlers Cameron White and Daniel Cullen have been very tight in their opening 3 overs. Nathan Bracken however remains the only bowler to have taken a wicket on a hard Brisbane pitch.

Sachin and his clone in good form at the moment... If they stay for ten more overs, then its dangerous for Aussies!!!
