As everyone knows the ICC gave points in the world cup to Zimbabwe and Kenya when England and New Zeland refused to play in the countries.

With Zimbabwe threatening to pull out of their tour to England and India almost certainly not touring Pakistan, should those series be awarded to England and Pakistan for the ICC test championship?

I think they should otherwise it would be double standards from the ICC.

What do other people think?

Well sorry guys I've gone so deep but I like the idea of Andrew.

Shouldn't this be in general cricket?

I think the WC was different. Is there actually a contractual obligation in place to play those series as there was with the World Cup?

When I made the topic, general cricket didn't even exist!

There is a 10 year schedule in place by the ICC, but I'm not sure how official it is.

i like that because pak get free points....lol....moreover i fell the ponts should be awarded IF the playing condtions are safe enough rated by icc apointed experts....and also the country should have to pay for damages if it is clear the country is safe, i undetrstand aus not touring because at that time I do beleive pak was unsafe, just because of the whole iraq vs usa mood...

But i feel in the recent months pak is getting safer, karachi still may be a little dangerous(i come from thrre, and it is sad to see it happeneing) but i think the pubjab part of pakistan(Lahore, Rawlpindi and Faislabad) is pretty safe now looking at the sa series(no riots, and no off stadium incidents, there was out field with the whole akthar controversy)

Also andrew you should edit your post, it says zimbawawe wont tour england, if u have a time traveler to make zim change the desicion on a past series, may i have one...lol....

I think it is the other way around

I think if a team pulls out due to security fears when the country is safe, then I think the host country should be awarded the points.

However, in the case of Zimbabwe an exception would have to be made.

The county is safe, but only because any protests are violently quelled by Mugabe's police force, with any political opposition imprisioned and silenced.

I personally, couldn't tour Zimbabwe whilst knowing that millions of people are starving, and being denyed their most basic human rights.

The country may be safe in a security sense..... but any team which tours Zimbabwe now, gives the Mugabe regime credibility and the team has the deaths of many people on their consciences.

Some countries have just spent millions of dollars trying to get rid of one brutal, evil dictator, and yet we go and play cricket in the backyard of another. Makes no sense to me.

Just my opinion of course.

i am going to take your word of it andrew, i never really know what mugabe does, i know he is evil and the most i have heard is "he treats white people bad"....that is what i have heard....but u have told me more and thank you to that...

But i still feel for Zimbawawe and their cricket, i think that the other board should talk it over with the zcu(Zim cric union) and find a different venue, like Nariobi or Sharjah....i feel the icc must make a better effort(i am not saying they make a bad one) to get these series going even if it means moving venues....but this option should be the LAST RESORT....not the first

Also if this option must be used, the icc could use it fairly wisely, like putting the one day series in US or Canada to promote the game?

Andrew i like your views so please reply to my post and think of what i said....

He treats everybody bad.

I think when a series is moved, it would be good if it were moved to a non-test country, but only if they can provide at least two grounds of an international standard.

yeah that sounds good...some that come in mind are Kenyas, Sharjah, Bangladesh(come on face it, they dotnget that much) and another oen could be Hong Kong or around that area(Nepal have a taleneted u-19 team)....

Also scotland isnt a bad venue along with ireland....and i feel they shoudl tlak with other countires so theyt oo can prpeapre a stadium, perhpas toronto could upgrade theirs?....like think about how thye could use pak and ind to their advantage, the greatest rivalry....do u know how much interest they will generate?

But you know i feel the stadium doesnt need to be top notch as a cancelled series isnt eveyr month so what is the poitn of wasting so much money for every 6 months?

Again andrew i am asking your opnion on this one as i think your the only one who makes me type so much...so shoot....

But what has England got to do in the international arena? It's got to be Britain, not England. Can any English people here clear my doubt?
