TPCL XI are bowled out on the second-last delivery of the innings after putting up a formidable total of 285. TPCL XI's openers weren't all that special with the bat today, but stoic performances from Tarak Sai Prathik, Talha Hayat and Dikshansh provided the team with a much-needed backbone for their innings. Tarak Sai Prathik raced to a 59-ball 68 with ravishing shots through the offside, whereas Talha Hayat embraced the role of an anchor for his run-a-ball 87. Dikshansh was a lot more conservative with his stroke-play, but he too contributed with an invaluable 74. However, it all went downhill for TPCL XI as soon as Delhi Capitals found a desperate breakthrough in the 35th-over. With their score 224 for 4 by the end of the 35th-over, TPCL XI could only manage 61 runs in the next 89 deliveries while losing their last 6 wickets in the process. A mightily disappointing finish to the innings left TPCL XI desiring more than what they achieved.
Delhi Capitals weren't very effective in the first-half of the innings, but they managed to pull things back quite considerably towards the end. Ravichandran Ashwin led from the front to pick up 3 crucial scalps, including the wicket of Talha Hayat, which spun TPCL XI into a frenzy. Sanjay Yadav bowled brilliantly to register figures of 3 for 39, and facilitated a game-changing run out as well. Pat Cummins being taken for 70 runs in his 10.0 overs was the only blemish on Delhi's bowling card.

Victory for The Capitals!
Delhi Capitals chase down the 286-run target with 4 wickets and 19 deliveries to spare, courtesy of a match-winning hundred from Joe Root. There were ups and downs for Delhi during the chase, but steady hands and calm heads from Ravichandran Ashwin and Rashid Khan prevailed and ensured the victory their top and middle-order set up for them. Joe Root played a sublime knock to score match-winning 108 runs from just 78 deliveries, with 82 of those 108 runs coming only in boundaries (16 fours and 3 sixes). Delhi's middle-order fluctuated but TPCL XI weren't prolific enough in capitalizing on crucial breakthroughs, which ultimately led to their failure in defending the target.
Manish Reddy, Ed Smith and Kumarjit Biswas ended the game wicketless. With Ed Smith and Kumarjit Biswas having a thoroughly forgetful outing. Mother's Milk and Lethal Enigma claiming 2 wickets apiece with respectable economy rates, but their counterparts going wicketless rendered their bowling efforts meaningless. Neptune Gaming claimed a wicket too, dismissing Sanjay Yadav, but the game was already done and dusted at that point. A disappointing outing for TPCL XI for sure, but one that was perhaps expected from a team consisting of players who have never played alongside each other, going up against one of the most intimidating sides ever assembled.
