Any Improvements?

I didnt get it:(

I mean when i click the Mrk forums Link" and soon after i click new post it should say up "Sorry try after sometime no new thread to show" i mean of this type ..

many Forums has it

Is there "Mark Forums read" Link i use the planet cricket Green Style theme
Yes there is, it is called Mark Forums Read and is at the bottom of the forum listing on the main page. If you still can't find it use the find feature in your browser or bookmark this link and just click it when you need to.

Glad to still see the Admins/Globies discussing how to take Planetcricket further. I've not really had a view on posts count/reps, but now they've gone hopefully it'll stop the rep/vcash whores constantly asking for them!

Good news about the milestones thread also, gets tedious when you get people posting "650 posts, yay me :happy:happy:happy:happy:happy,"

So all round, well played. I'm just more happy that PC continues to try to become better :)

I fully understand why the admins did this and agree with it. But, it doesn't stop me blaming these newer members who have forced it to happen. There used to never be an issue with reps or post count, but when you get people swapping reps and just spamming to reach milestones, it was pretty pathetic.

So yeah, thanks a lot guys

The Milestones thread was 3 and a half years old (and started by an Admin!), spamming is hardly a new thing, Tom.

While I've never really felt the total obsession that some people had with their postcount you certainly could see a deterioration in the Milestones thread. It's only natural to find round numbers like 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000.... significant. This is afterall a cricket site a sport where such personal milestones in the game are celebrated. But for a long time that thread was full of posts not about significant milestones, but a place to say "wooohooo 123 posts". I feel the "what have you achieved today" thread will be exactly as pointless. It will (and has already filled) with totally random non-achievements. Not "I've just got a new job" or "I gust got an A on an exam" but posts more in the style of "I've just got out of bed" (Yes I know that hasn't been posted, but I am using it for dramatic effect) now that is an achievement of sorts (well for me it is) but it's not the sort of thing anyone else would care about reading and here's the point of this rather longwinded post...If you fill the thread with posts that people won't really care about and the thread just becomes about posting something that only you care about it won't be worth having either.

TBH, I really don't like this. I have no idea, which of the newer members are decent guys and which are total randoms. I really don't have an issue with post count being on the user cp thing next to where you post, your still gonna get spam, kind of what Kev said regarding that thread

Matt has further tricks up his sleeve to solve this.

The difference as I see it is that the Milestone thread was causing spam in other forums so you could have a new milestone to post about. A few useless posts in a thread isn't an issue for me, in fact part of the reason I made the thread was so that members could get some of that urge to post random spam out in one place rather than spread out across the forum interrupting actual topics.

That actually made sense, which annoys me, as it leaves me with no valid point now.

I still think you should be able to see post count and reps though. Until you release this mystery thing which Syl talked about of course... ;)

1) Don't mind Reps and vCash gone
2) Don't like the Post Count going. How will you tell who is a member who has been around here for a while, and who isn't? Plus, I've lost the title as having the most posts for a non-mod! :p
