Any Improvements?

you can tell by looking at the join date, seems good to me. I like it. You can still see someones posts in their profile if you're that bothered by it. I don't know why people are though, number of posts in no way tells you how good a member is. Maybe now people will look at a post and instead of assuming they agree because that member has a lot of posts they will actually decide whether they agree with it or not.

Did anyone do that in the first place? I meant, if you need advice for installing a patch or something, how would you be able to tell if someone knew what he was talking about, or if someone was spewing rubbish?

I was just wondering, since we can't see a person's reps, why don't we just disable them?? They don't have any point.

It is a quite useful means of communication and avoids many off topic comments, and as such it will stay in roughly its current form.

Surely most of that could be done by visitor messages though?

This is a kind of a wrong button or something in the posting options? I just saw "Vote now" button ...kinda besides edit, save signature while editing a post.

Really don't see why Post count has gone, I quite liked looking at seing how many post other people have made. The rest of it doesn't bother me but I just liked seeing how many times I've posted it isn't like I try and spam to increase it and people who do can be banned.

This'll be a good test to see if staff listen to the members. The removal of post count has been met with mostly negative feedback. I for one hate it, I have no idea out of the newer members who is who

Yeah, even I delt through the situation many times in past couple of days.

I guess removal of post count has both positives & negatives. It helps in reduction of spam & at the samw time it causes some problems as mentioned above.

But, I doubt staff will make any changes as they always take a decision after discussing it in the staff room.

You could equally use it as a test though. Instead of just saying you hate it, you could actually see if you do start speaking to random members and getting bad advise. I suspect that you know pretty much all the active members anyhow and you might actually find that new members find it easier to feel included.

Well I hate naming names, Kev. But I for one, keep getting the two Shan's, muddled up, and Pranav and some other guy muddled up, even though I do know who they are. (How dumb do I sound now  :p)

Regarding new members, I don't think that is too true. Look at people like Mani (Dr. Pepper) They are recent members and he is already pretty popular

And you find it easier to remember who they are by their postcount? Not really sure who they are but I'd have thought it wouldf be much simpler to try and remember their avatars or signatures rather than a constantly changing number.

I would say that removing the rep indicator does make it a bit less easy to spot trouble making members. Seeing a big line of red was an easy way to instantly know that you are probably wasting your time communicating with them.

Well I am a legend, end of. :p

I didn't actually notice the post count gone until today. Good on ya staffy guys! It's about time. I don't care about my post count and I hope this will reduce spam.

I'm unique, I needed post count, their avatars used to look quite similar but PranavPathak has way more posts.

I hadn't thought of that but yeah that was another thing.

Of course I am being incredibly negative here, but I was closing in on 10K posts, so am slightly annoyed ;)
