Agreed with everything you said Lee, however his reputation is definitely at stake. With such a high profile cricket title is being developed (ashes cricket has to be the cricket most important game) by trickstar, and mike being CEO of the company should have known how to handle the delay fiasco and current lack of communication.

The lack of communication with potential customers (however small the PC community is) just shows that how poorly the whole situation has been handled by a person who holds a major post at a company. When your own money is on line you bound to work harder and get the results which you want to achieve. But once other people money is involved it's matter of achieving just what they have asked for.

If DB14 was not around we would have had yet another game which does not even have basic sports game would have. A clear example would be the implementation of correct ball physic is yet to be achieved by any games that has been created by Transmissions/Trickstar.

Worst cud happen?? He could lose his job his security his home his wife and kids etc!! He has just as much to lose IMO. Unfortunately for him he's the public face of trickster so he's the one who cops it if it goes tits up even tho he's part of the machine. Ross on the other hand IS the machine so he's naturally goin to feel more responsible for the project. Either way its not us who suffer or pay for crappy games!! Mike and Ross stand to lose REAL things that affect Real lives!! We're all looking forward to one or both games but lets have a bit of realism for the big picture! Rant over

:facepalm

Do me a favour, do you really think his job is gonna be on the line.?

Let's be honest it's quite clear they have hardly pushed the boat out for this game, which is why if they pull the plug it's hardly a big deal, it's a bloody cricket game, not fifa, call of duty, gta.

A bloody game about a lump of leather and a pice of wood, not exactly a game in huge demand is it

Yes Mikes gonna cop a bit of crap for this but don't think for one second he is gonna be in the dole queue soon

That communication and handling delay is 505 Games' job, not Mike's. Mike F is developing the game and should deliver the same to 505 Games. It's 505 Games who should manage communication and expectations of the fans/end users. Mike F only needs to provide updates/info to 505 Games and nobody else, and who knows he might have done so and it was 505 Games who f****d up.

They are 2 completely different projects

Ross game is personal, his own personal reputation/name is on the line so to speak, which is why he has arguably more to lose, although I have a very good feeling its gonna be a big success.

Where's Mike is part of the machine in ashes 13, so if and when this goes tits up, what's the worst that is gonna happen?

Some abuse from us lot, that is all, and does that really bother him.?

Nope and nor should it, we are irrelevant really, whether we like it or not

Yeah, only thing to be happy about is the fact that we are gonna get two cricket games.

I would think aquiring the Ashes license and advertising in the worlds most popular cricket publication not to mention having special promotion events at the home of cricket and havin two of the worlds most famous cricketers on the cover is pushing the boat out!! As he's using somebody's money to do all this he's accountable, companies have shareholders, they generally elect a CEO, and they generally fire them if they lose money and public face!!

So yes I could see him lose his job over it!

Correction: Someone at 505 Games might lose his/her job for this, not Mike F as he doesn't work at 505 Games :p

505 will have paid a lot of money for the ashes license, and will have a contract to deliver. the licensors (ECB/CA) will be expecting a game as they have given over time, IP, and their "reputation" to the product. they will have redress from 505 if the product never sees the light of day.

trickstar as developers will have a contract with 505. there will be huge financial implications on them if they fail to deliver the product. so AJH is bang on (and lee as usual is bang off) when he says MikeF's career/financial security is at stake.

it's a sad fact given how many people's livelihoods would be affected but if the game is in as much trouble as has been hinted, and doesn't get a release in Nov. the continued existence of trickstar would be in doubt.

But that is the thing, 505 are not the one who are at PC or facebook, at the end of the day Trickstar are the one communicating with their potential customers. Therefore it is indeed a mismanagement of communication from trickstar.

That is where 505 Games got it wrong. I don't believe for a second Mike F is on social media without 505 Games' consent, and quite possibly he has been forced to be on social media platform by 505 Games.

It's publishers who manage publicity, PR, marketing and media (including social media) side of things and not developers. Any miscommunication, or lack of information, has to be attributed to 505 Games.

Excuse me David, your hardly a pc veteran here are you, so take your 5 minutes of experience here and poke it

And yet i've already managed to read enough to know that i don't think i have ever seen a single post by you that didn't demean the thread by its very existence... Didn't take even 5 minutes to work you out.

Your post was wrong, there will be dire financial consequences for Trickstar if the game doesn't come out. There probably already have been penalties for missing the first date. Ajh was right, you weren't.

I believe the phrase is "take your poke it and do one".

Seeing is believing in this case. So far we have seen a glimpse of only one of the finished products - that's DBC-14.
