Aussies , which team do u think can beat ur team?

I think if England have all of there seamers and Giles fit and on form by the Ashes, England could pull off a shock. Though it would still be very close.

What's the bloody reputation thing for if you can't bloody use it then! If you agree with a post give it positive rep, if you dont agree give it negative rep, SIMPLE!

"yeah? and who defeated your team at Adelaide?"
We had a world class bowling attack then didnt we! No Warne, Gillespie and Lee coming back from injury, and Brad Williams/Nathan Bracken (forget which one) early in their career.

"I'd say australian player who stood between an indian series win was bucknor."
Stop bloody blaming the umpires:
"the amount of whining and crying you hear when" indians "blame their losses on umpires and stupid sh*t like "is so pathetic it's laughable."

"the amount of whining and crying you hear when aussies lose is so pathetic it's laughable."
Whining and crying? The pitch was bloody dodgey, it wasn't even up to first class standard FFS! Probably not even grade cricket or even Under/12's

good enough bloody point for ya!!!

When the umpiring is so bad that the outcome of the match could have been different, we will keep on whining (as u say it!)..

Squiz , i agree that the pitch was `bloody` dodgey and not upto even school cricket grade but ur team , a world champion side must have been able to score 100 odd runs needed to win the game.
Yu must accept the fact that the Indian spin triobowled well that day and some of the overconfident batting also helped their cause

I can give u the fall of wickets and also give u a brief description of the aussie wickets

JL Langer c Karthik b Khan (khan not a spin bowler)
ML Hayden b Harbhajan Singh
(bowled round the legs, if warnie wud have done it it wud have been called the ball of the millenium)

*RT Ponting c Laxman b Kartik ( A loose stroke)
DR Martyn lbw b Kartik (A good quicker one and wud have earned a wicket on any pitch)

SM Katich c Dravid b Harbhajan Singh (tried to cover drive it and ended up giving a slip catch to dravid )
MJ Clarke b Kartik ( Tried to manufacture a square cut from nowhere to straight delivery )
+AC Gilchrist c Tendulkar b Harbhajan Singh (a huge slog)
JN Gillespie not out
NM Hauritz lbw b Kumble (was unlucky to be given out)
MS Kasprowicz c Dravid b Harbhajan Singh (caught in the slips)
GD McGrath c Laxman b Harbhajan Singh ( caught in the slips)

Now , if any of u aussies who watched the game know about cricket u would know that most of the wickets fell due to arrogant batting and batsman trying to finish the match off before the close of ply on day 3 which it eventully did but not in their favour
Clarke played a poor shot and so did gilchrist, katich and ponting
So I do not think that the pitch was fully responsible for thir downfall .
They lost to an Indian team who were determined to pull off a miracle!

Now coming to the adelaide tst and squiz said was won by Indi due to absence of warnie
Stop cracking jokes , Warnie has never ben effective vs India and has a bowling average of 50+ vs India
Gillespie was just back from Injury : India lost Zaheer due to Injury and Zaheer took 5 wickets at the GABBA
Both Lee and Gillespie played at Sydney and the Indian total was even better 705/5 Dec !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread is getting off topic and it has become more of a Mumbai pitch controversy thread !
Squiz and Brad - Just take a chill pill
Calm down guys

Did you read the heading of this topic?? That, keeping in mind with the recent developments in cricket, would virtually smash your answer!! Pakistan have been consecutively clean sweeped by the Aussies in 2000 and in 2004!! I dont say they are a bad team but far away from the Aussies by miles!!

Realisticaly I don't think any team has much of a solid chance right now. Especially playing a series in Australia where we havn't lost a series in over 10years. But if i was to pick one team it would have to be India. They've prooven in recent years that they can push our buttons.

I think the best chance any has of beating Australia in the near future is England in the Ashes.

Well if there is any team that can beat the Aussies at this moment, it has to be Michael Vaughan's England. England's team have been playing just the way the Aussies do, that is by dominating the opposition. But like you said everyone has to be 100% fit and in form.

The fact that England became only the second team to beat SA in SA since 1992 (readmission), without Harmison doing anything, shows that England are not dependent on just 1-2 players.

So all we need for the ashes is Harmison and Freddie to be fully fit and firing.

hmmm i'd have to say England probably, but i really can't see even them putting much of a dint in the Aussie juggernaut. The ashes this year should produce some interesting tests at least....if it doesnt rain!

I think Australia have the wood over India now. They've done their homework and worked out how to tactically shut down India's attack with ball and bat, as demonstrated last year. I don't think future series between these two will be as close as we all hope.

It would be great to see NZ produce a great team over the next few years to give us a run for our money. Series between NZ and the Aussies are always the best to watch.

All elite teams like India, Eng, Pak, SL, SA can beat Australia... they just have to wait till Mcgrath, Warne and Gillespie hang their boots.

So, you think the Indians are dumb fellows who cannot work their way out of the Australian homework and get back at them?? We also have brains sir!! Mind you, the next series between the two would be in 2008!! Who knows what the situation might be at that time?
