No patches or anything on this tour. I'll tour without patches first then do a tour with a patch to see if I can see the difference! As there is no point me doing a tour with a patch if I don't know what it's normally like!

You will find normal batting strokes tough to break the infield - especially the straight drive - good luck though

I can understand leaving out Trescothick and Nasser, but Jones?!?

Maybe he doesn't want Nasser to win the toss, crazily opt to bowl, Jones to get injured in the field, and Trescothick fail with the bat. :P

He scored 130 in the last game mate!! Even the great Sachin Tendulkar has praised the Somerset batsman.

Dont forget, Trescothick is very much like Sehwag. He can demolish the opposition bowlers.

How on earth do you intend to beat us (australia) without Nasser Hussain and Marcus Trescothick? even i know that there two of their best batsman.

First one day match of the tour to start today and the chairman of selectors (me!) defends his decision to drop Trescothick,Jones and Hussain. Regarding Trescothick he says "I stand by my decision of dropping Marcus Trescothick, I feel he is more suited to one day games only and all 20 of our squad must be in contention for both sides". "I feel it is time to try new blood with Will Jefferson who has done brilliantly for his county and deserves a chance to establish himself as Englands new opening batsman". The same goes with Gary Pratt".
"Regarding Hussain I feel times have moved on and it is time for this batsman to focus on his county cricket, he has done brilliantly for us over the years and has hit many a century but all good things have to come to an end and I feel his batting standrad has dropped a bit in recent years.
"Jones was up with Lewry for the final fast bowling slot but I felt having a Left Arm bowler would help vary the bowling attack".

Likely line up for 1st one day match vs Chairmans XI

W Jefferson
M Vaughan
G Thorpe?
K Pietersen
I Blackwell
A Flintoff
C Read
G Batty
R Johnson
J Kirtley

Graham Thorpe installed as new captain of England for both test and one day matches.
Jefferson is 6 foot 10 in real life! He looks really tall in the game as well but I could be imaginging it.
