Isn't Aus-NZ kind of a rivalry series too, perhaps not on the same scale as Aus-Eng or Ind-Pak matches? If yes, surprising to see Warner giving preference to India tour than this series.

Just saw the schedule. It's a short 3-match series.

Why wasn't Klinger selected before ? His stats are good and he has tons of experience. Happy he finally got a chance.

Klinger averages about 35 in the Shield doesn't he? There's your answer why he never got the gig. He had a couple of seasons where he piled on runs and maybe should have got a go when he was at South Australia but he was hardly a Michael Hussey.

No way Australia is becoming the next WI but yes some of the recent selection have been mind boggling.

This is an extremely good article about Australia's flawed selection policy. What's the point in hosting domestic tournaments throughout the year when at the end only 20 year olds who've had two good games in the BBL are going to get selected? Unless Greg Chappell gets kicked out, nothing can stop Australia from becoming the next West Indies in the near future.
Brydon Coverdale on the controversy over Cameron White's comments about Australian selection | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

Besides the fact that up until the South African mauling we were selecting guys who were in their mid 30's and wheeling out Shaun Marsh every couple of series. Cameron White was an international failure.
