Australia's Test Series journey

cricketaustralialogo.jpg

With Australia's domination of World Cricket nearly coming to an end, South Africa come to visit the once unbeatable side. Now the legends of Australia cricket have left the game, Gilchrist, Warne, McGrath and Langer, is it time for Cricket Australia to be at the re-building stage?

They still have some wonderful talent of cricketers ie, Ponting, Clarke, Hussey and Brett Lee, but how will they adapt to the test of the up-coming new sides that are much quicker, smarter and more agile then the rest of the Australian's.
South Africa will tour Australia this month and face in a 5 Match Test Series. It should be a cracking contest between the two sides, as they will battle it out over the summer break.
We will see how the Aussies can cope without their legends in the side, that once 5-0 whitewashed the Poms in Australia to reclaim the Ashes Series just 2 years ago. Back then they had their champs playing.. Warnie, McGrath and Langer dominated in that Ashes win, but who are the likely types to replace them now.. Lee? is he still good enough to be the number 1 striker in the Aussie line-up. Mitchell Johnson, Stuart Clark to replace McGrath.
Nathan Hauritz, Brad Hogg to replace Warnie. Langer? Maybe Jaques, Watson... what will Cricket Australia have to do to replace these one time legends of this game.

Let's have a look at both these sides squads for the Test Match Series that are coming up in a couple of weeks time, first begin with Australia....

So their are the squads of both the sides for this 5 Match Test Series, now let's have a look at the fixture for both these sides, and when they are due to face each other.

JUN 1 - Australia vs South Africa - TBA
JUN 6 - Australia vs South Africa - TBA
JUN 11 - Australia vs South Africa - TBA
JUN 16 - Australia vs South Africa - TBA
JUN 21 - Australia vs South Africa - TBA

So there ya go, that is both the sides of the two teams, and there is the fixture that will have them both facing each other in 5 different Test Matches all throughout Australia. 5 days length in each Test Match, it should be a wonderful series, and one to look forward too.
It's going to be hard to find a winner in this match, Australia still look very good on paper, and the South African's aren't really a good Test team, they are more suited to the one day matches, and they are ranked 2nd in that stage, but it will be interesting to see wether they can match it up to the Australian's who have been number 1 for a considerable amount of time, is this the end of Australia domination?

Telecasting rights After a sucessful win, channel 9 has been given the rights to show this summers series of Cricket. Channel 9 has been a huge supporter of the cricket back from anybody could remeber, and it's shown every single match free to live air.

Technologies - All new technology comes to channel 9. Hawkeye, sniko meter, and many many more graphics will come with this viewing of channel 9, so be prepared for that.

by the way, i will still continue my other "KFC 20/20" Story, but i will put more detail into this story then the other one, just to clarify that :p

South Africa arrive in Australia

So the visitors have just arrived in Australia for their 5 Match Test Series, and they are looking a very healthy group at the moment.
A squad of 19 players have made the journey across to Australia, to take on the once most dominant team in Cricket, but now will have their work cut out.
Australia have some new looking faces into this side and it will be interesting to see wether those players can cope with the likes of Smith and de Villiers, some of the champion players at South Africa at the moment. This has been a long and awaited Test Series, which is going to be enjoyed by most.
It should be a even series, from both the sides, as it will be very hard to pick a winner today... We caught up with Graeme Smith the Protea's Captain once they landed...

Finally good to get off that place Graeme?

Yeah mate, you have no idea. The flight was long and tiring, but the boyz played some games, watched a few movies to keep themselves entertained and off the game as much as possible.

You have a good looking squad, do you think you'll be able to beat the Aussies with the squad you have now?
untitled1jn6.png
Well you know, as a team, and as a captain, you have every belief in the ability to beat anybody if just the right research and time is put into each team, anybody is beatable. So we give ourselves a big chance to beat the Aussies, they aren't the good side they use to be, and it will be hard for them to replace the likes of Warne and Gilchrist, but that shouldn't matter to any side, if you are a good cricketing side, then they will find players to replace those champions.

Well thankyou for your time Graeme, and good luck with this series..

Thanks, appreciate it

Australia vs South Africa - Test Match @ Brisbane

Hello ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to the 1st Test Match series, between Australia and South Africa, we are here in a hot brisbane, with the temperature reaching a whooping 36 degrees out in the middle at the moment, and it's only 11am. We have a bugger of a day infront of us, weather wise, but a glorious day infront of us, Cricket wise.

South Africa arrived in Australia 2 weeks ago, and have been preparing for their 5 Match Series against the Aussies.
So we bring you all the live action from the Gabba in Brisbane, and you can see it no where else, except here on channel 9.

Now let's have a look at both the teams for this match, and full selections have been made for this 5 day match.

So let's have a look at these 2 sides, we have in store for today, starting with the visitors. They have a very balanced side their. I think if the Captain Graeme Smith can get onto a flyer of a innings, then South Africa will come close to winning this Test Match. They have a pretty good middle order, and opening pair, but their tail end is lacking. Dale Steyn is missing from this squad, after tearing a hamstring at training, and will be missing for some time, not to sure when we will see him next.
But with AB. de Villiers opening the batting and with his Captain, they should be able to post 100-150 + odd between them for the first wicket, seeing if the Aussies dont pick a wicket out early.
Jaque Kallis and Herchelle Gibbs are 2 splended batsmen, and they will be looking to hit big today. Ashwell Prince, well we all know how good he is, and then theres Neill McKenzie, and Mark Boucher another 2 big hitters.
Watch out for McKenzie during tonight or early tomorrow morning, he is in some good form and will be looking to get off to a flyer this series.

Now to the Australian line-up. There are some familiar faces in that group, but look at the opening batsmen, no Jaques or Hayden... Simon Katich and Shaun Marsh have been called up to the team to open the batting for Australia. Then it comes to the more experienced players, in Ponting, Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke in the middle order. Michael's brother, David Hussey has joined him in the Test squad, and will be looking to knock a few around when it's his turn to come out and bat. Wicket keeper Brad Haddin is a fine batsmen, and was considered to open the batting for Australia, but obviously Ponting decided against the decision. Then the bowlers, Hilfenhaus, Noffke, Bracken and Lee.
It was a strange decision from Ponting to leave out Stuart Clark to this Test squad for Brisbane, the pitch is certainly one that would suit him. It has some even bounce, and will carry through to the wicket keeper.

So there you have it, the 2 teams have been announced, and now we go down to ground level as we find Michael Slater.. Evening Slates

"Thanks Tony, i am joined by the Australian and South African Captains, Ricky Ponting and Graeme Smith, now Smith it's your call...."Heads"... Heads it is, so what are you going to do?"
"We'll have a bat".
"So South Africa have dsecided to bat, and Smith, what were your intentions on this decision?"
"Well the pitch is looking in pretty good form at the moment. It has a pretty even bounce throughout the entire pitch, and our batsmen are amuned to the bouncing ball, which is what we have been practicing throughout the week at training, so hopefully we've trained enough to post a big score here".
Well thanks Smith, and Punter, well shame on loosing the toss?"
"Well yeah, like Graeme said, it's a wonderful looking pitch at the moment, it is ideal day for batting, and will be pretty hot too, so might take a bit out of us, standing in the field for the whole day, so we'll be trying to get as many wickets as we can today, to try and keep away from the sun too long".
"Ok well thanking you both, and now we'll be joined in the commentary book, with the start of play.."
