Australian bowling pecking order.

Australia has some good quality fast bowling stocks at the moment, but the pecking order is completely out of whack. It seems like there is no longer a focus on results.

My top ten in order is as follows

Johnson
Harris
Pattinson
Bird
Hogan
Behrendorff
Hazlewood
Coulter-Nile
Rimmington
Rainbird

You might see there are some notable omissions in that order.

Siddle - he's been average for the last year. His first class average isn't that great to begin with and he struggled over in England.

Starc - one trick pony with a poor average. His only wicket taking ball is his inswinging yorker. Other than that he doesn't have much and his first class average of 33 backs me up.

Hilfenhaus - poor record last season.

Sayers - Great on swinging/seaming decks otherwise he struggles. Not good enough for international cricket.

Cutting - struggled last season. Bowls short of a length which doesn't work at international level.

Faulkner - Lacks penetration, lacks accuracy, not international standard.

Other guys like Hastings, Sandhu, Bollinger, Abbott, Richardson have average records either overall or in the last 2 seasons.

I know this might be too early to say but I really like the look of Joel Paris. Of course he needs some experience in domestic cricket but from what I have seen of him so far, he definitely looks good to me. I also don't think Faulkner and Starc are good test bowlers. They are excellent with white ball but they are likely to struggle in the longer format.

Sandhu = Highest Wicket Taker in LIST A ! (LAST SEASON)

Siddle always does well against England. With Johnson, Harris, Pattinson and Bird available though, I don't think Siddle will be needed.

Cummins not up there at the moment?

Richardson seems to be flavour of the month. Is he any good?

Richardson averages mid 30s. He still hasn't gotten the hang of 4 day cricket.

Also Cummins is a long way off test cricket. With his body we're gonna have to gradually introduce him to 4 day cricket again and see how he goes.

To be fair to Hilfenhaus I am pretty sure he was carrying a shoulder injury for most of the past season.

Siddle was definitely down on form last year. This year he looks a lot better with his pace back up.

Faulkner and Starc haven't had much of a chance to improve their Test match bowling when they are playing limited over matches most of the time.
