I`m pretty pissed with the BCCI scheduling to be honest. With the test so nicely poised and with the possibility of India batting today, you would have huge crowds in traditional test venues but what do we have in Mohali, 10 people watching the game. If they do not appreciate test cricket, why go back to them again and again. Kolkata/Chennai/Mumbai/Kanpur would get more crowd in one day of a test than Mohali does over 3 years. :doh

Its disappointing to see a the premium form of cricket being played between two high quality sides but noone turning up.

By the way, cricinfo commentary reports Zaheer touching the 140s quite frequently in the last spell. Is is accurate? If that is the case, it is pretty heartening since he generally tends to be in the late 130s and the 140s when he is in good rhythm.

Ishant should be dropped. He's unfit, slow, and can't bowl for his life. He hasn't had a good match in god knows how long.

Sreesanth!

The solution is to play 3 seamers! When will they realize. Its not that we do not have any options. With two seamers, you depend too much on the toss and a pretty defensive bowler like Bhajji who is useless on good batting tracks. Reverse will get you more wickets than mediocre spin bowling which Harbhajan dishes out.

I would bet my money on this. If we regularly play 3 seamers, we will be an even more dangerous side. The 2 spinner policy is obsolete and we rarely get spin friendly pitches in India nowadays.

Ishant back on the field :clap

Hardly any spin for any of the bowlers, Clarke gifted his wicket to Harbhajan (he has a nack of falling to spinners recently :facepalm).
He gets a lot of hype as the best play of spin and in some ways it's still true, but there's little difference whether you're a bad player of spin or a good player of spin who doesn't make runs.

Dhoni having a nightmare, another ball falls short of him. Looks like Khan has got his reverse back again.

If they bat this slowly and the pitch is this bad, how will crowds come in for test cricket? Whats the crowd like right now in Mohali for Day 2? People will disappear fast from the stadium if the Aussies bat like this. And its not due to the fact that they are batting well.

Well played Watson, highest test score, the way hes playing he looking at 200. If he gets out he is going to be kicking himself.

For sure, looks awesome. The last SL v India series was awful picture, not widescreen or HD, its 2010 people! Give me HD all the way. Here in Oz in 2001 Foxtel had the worst broadcast, awful quality picture. Good to see it get really sharp.
Have had a couple of goes at trying to watch the GF in SD. The lack of quality is distracting.

Geez now we are paying the price for the slow scoring rate, Watson gone and now we are into the lower order/tail and our score still isn't past 300.

Cricinfo said:
11.33 am: Australia have scored 71 runs in that session for the loss of Ponting.

Really pathetic, somebody needs to get the sack there.

Edit: Just as I post this, it gets fixed.

What a welcome change it is to have Johnson at the crease, finally we have someone that is trying to win this match.

Maybe this was the plan all along. :p Tire out/soften the bowlers for Johnson to come in and play a counter-attacking innings.
