Bangladesh vs. New Zealand 1st ODI @ Chittagong​

NZ won the toss and elected to field first​

Tamim Iqbal after a massive 135 to get Bangladesh to 284​

Bangladesh will be very happy to get a big score on the cards, thanks to Tamim Iqbal for his great aggressive century. He lasted almost till the end of the innings, he got out at the 50th over. ​

It was a great start by Tamim and Mehrab, they built a great opening stand. Mehrab got out after scoring a patient 66 at the 30th over and then followed Captain Ashraful who's been troubled with poor batting form for a very long time already. Then Shakib could not last long, then came Raqibul Hasan and scored a quickfire 50 and gave Tamim the signal to go for a century.

Stay tuned as NZ chase the challenging total set by Bangladesh.​

NZ chasing 285 in 50 overs​

Shakib was the most economical and successful of all the bowlers by giving just 44 runs and taking 2 important wickets.​

It was really tough job for Bangladesh to do but in the end they managed to seal yet another fantastic thriller at Chittagong. The opening bowlers started off really well, Mortaza picked the first wicket and Bangladesh were in good position, then the NZ batsmen started building partnership. 3 NZ batsmen could do very well with the bat (G Hay, Oram and Hiini). Razzak broke the big partnership by getting the wicket of Hay and then Shakib picked up the wickets of Vincent and Hiini.​

NZ then needed 38 runs off the last 6 overs with 3 wickets remaining then some good fielding decisions by Ashraful helped Mashrafe and Rasel clinch the 10 run thriller.​

Tamim Iqbal was awarded Man of the Match for his brilliant 135. Join me next time for the 2nd ODI @ Fatullah, Dhaka where NZ will look to take revenge and stay alive in the series.​
