EDIT 2: Story relaunched again. Please look at last post.

EDIT: Please look at this post for the relaunch of the story.q

Ok. This may be the 3rd Battrick story now, but I feel it needs to be told.
Right, the situation. I have played 6 matches with me in charge (with one in progress), 4 league games and 2 friendlies, as you can see below.

I have won all four league games :happy against better teams, and lost both friendlies :( against much better teams. The one in progress I am soon going to lose (it is against Pak_cricketer :p ).

I am also 2nd in the league thanks to my good run. I play the leaders in a few weeks - hopefully i can win that game as well!

I have a unique idea, a kind of membership club, where members get to take part in an exclusive competition (every saturday). Also, it is free to join this club (i will give you rep :D ) and you can get rep for winning the competitions. I will also add more things to the members package as soon as I come up with them (or you tell me).
Just post if you want to join and I will give you a rep asap (and maintain a list in this post)

Some select members of the squad -

Rod Bishop, my allrounder captain, best batsman at the moment, (c) and usually batting at 4
Carl Milner, a decent wicketkeeper - bats at 8
Rhys Rowland, a fairly decent batsman, bats at 1
Lucas Perry, another ok batsman, bats at 2
David Cooper, sameish kind of batsman. Bats at 3.
Graeme Filan, a supposedely rubbish batsman, but has produced some of teh best performances in the squad this season, bats at 5
Samuel Hayzwelden, another allrounder I am training up, bats at 6
Tim Croft, yet another and more promising allrounder, a transfer I bought for 3000 and one who has turned out very well. Bats at 7 for the moment, hasn't got that far yet.
Ledley Marples, another decent transfer who is not so bad a batting, but good at bowling. He bats at 9.
Roger Oakley, who is one of my best bowlers can bat a bit. He bats at 10.
and finally Lawrence Cronin, who was my first half-decent youth pull. Hes a decent spin bowler, but needs a bit of batting. Bats at 11.

Thank you to those (currently one) who have signed up... :)

Falcons Fly Through Challengers XI

Match Report

Challengers XI vs The Falcons @ Challengers XI CG

Friendly Competition - Planet Cricket Battrick League

The Falcons easily won by 241 runs.

Reporter's summary:
Reporter said:
Challengers XI The Falcons
Top Order: feeble proficient
Middle Order: woeful competent
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: feeble competent
Spin Bowling: woeful feeble
Fielding: feeble competent

The Challengers (need to come up with better nickname :) ) only got two wickets, letting the much better side gather 358 runs. Oakley and Cronin got the wickets, both claiming runs in the 60s. Croft continued a decent start for the team by conceding only 58 runs.

Next the batsmen were obliterated by the Falcons' bowling, with Michael Stevens taking 4 for 21. The only scores of slight note came from Graeme Filan, who continued a good run of form with 27, and Ledley Marples who produced two good partnerships with 28.
The captain will be very disappointed - he got out with a 2 ball duck, whilst Rhys Rowland fell to a royal duck first ball of the innings. Perry will not be happy either, he fell for 2.

Overall, an edgy (literally!) performance from Challengers XI, but we were against a much better team.

Added. RabbleRouser, looks like you won't be getting that wickie. Fallowfield Falcons seem to have swept the board with ?8000. He is the first player I have successfully sold, only the 4th time I have tried a youth pull. This will clear my debt and allow me to have a n extra ITS next week :D
