Azhar Mahmood just bowled this peach of a last over to tie the match against Middlesex. Needing just 1 run to win Mahmood bowled a wicket maiden to save my chances of making the Challenge Trophy Final.

Can anybody top that final over?

Well at least you had 3 runs to play with, which is a little less pressure than when you have to bowl a maiden. Still, taking 4 wickets in the final over is very very good, although slightly different circumstances...

Was yours in a regular season match? Mine was in a World Cup semi-final match, winner goes on to the final. Then he took 4 or 5 odd wickets in the final to win us the final as well. WAG.

I kind of did have to win because otherwise I would be out of reach. Ended up winning and then losing the last match, although I couldn't have made it anyway as I would have been 1 point behind.

Bet you went crazy when you won :p

Haha yeah, it was an epic over to say the least. I saw they needed 4 runs of 6 balls, due to me bowling the tweakers and part timers through the middle overs to get through a few cheap ones. They creaped up on me, and with 1 over left I brought back Peter Siddle, easily my best ODI and a decent test bowler too. I bowled it one by one, first I thought it was a boundary to win, and with a highlight every ball I was actually worried they would win the match. But it was great bowling nonetheless.

I have one (only a OD QF match, nothing international) story of my regen allrounder (nothing special 32-28 in OD 34-28 in FC) bowling the last over of an OD match against summerset, them needing 2 runs to win off the last over 246-2 at that point, on comes Cardew, first ball has Trescothick caught behind. Second ball trapped Blackwell but not out, third and 4th no run. 5th ball clean bowled Blackwell and the new batsman couldn't get the last ball away. I'm pretty sure if he hadn't got rid of Tresco (who was 132n.o at that point) would have managed to get two runs from somewhere. With the new batsmen in he managed to keep it tight... needless to say I was mightly happy. Trescothick got MotM ofc.
