I got 80K for my home cup match! Woohoo! Anyway, I'm batting first:

End of Over 25: 125-0, runrate=5.00
Mckenna 6-0-35-0
Blakeman* 61 (69 balls)
Hume 61 (83 balls)

I don't actually expect to win this match as the opposition is supposed to be better than me. So, I TIEd it, and also rested Darren Allardyce, whose now close to competant keeping and quality batting. He's getting 4 nets, so he can't be playing cup matches as well. He's scored 383 runs in 4 games this season, with 3 hundreds. Home grown talent!

I am going pretty good ahainst embi...

End of Over 34: 125-6, runrate=3.68
Gallacher 7-1-22-1
Kekeletso* 5 (20 balls)
Ireland 4 (8 balls)

Zakauddin the star for me so far with the figures of 10-0-19-3...

An astonishing end to my first innings as 30 runs came of the last 2 overs!

End of Over 50: 286-4, runrate=5.72
Featherstone 10-0-63-3
Marsh* 18 (7 balls)
Thompson 56 (56 balls)

See, Marsh is my worst batsman (only competant), excluding the bowlers. But he's a proficient fielder and has got good secondaries. He almost always comes in the last 5 overs and gives the innings a good finish. He's also been in my team since the first day, the only member to do so. Anyway, If I lose I'll be cursing myself for TIEing. I'd probably have got 350 if I did not, and if Allardyce would have played...

End of Over 6: 23-2, runrate=3.83, reqrunrate=6.00 (286-4)
Scholes 3-0-11-2
Eavis* 7 (17 balls)
Fleming 8 (8 balls)
2 wickets in 2 balls from Scholes, and game on. This might be one mega upset if I win. A prize money of ?80,000, morale gain and fitness gain. IF I win. Mind you, their best batsman is still playing.

End of Over 34: 167-0, runrate=4.91, reqrunrate=5.56 (255-7)
Ifill 7-1-26-0
Akhunzada* 91 (107 balls)
Lucas 69 (98 balls)

Looking quite close. True, we could do with some wickets but my boys are keeping the rate down nicely.

34.3 W Long to Akhunzada
Beautiful delivery finds an edge. Osmond grabs it, the appeals go up. He's out.

Howzat? Good bowling lad. Bad luck to Akhunzada for not getting a century.

NOOO! I lost! Should have played it normal. Bad mistake. I'll probably lose my next THREE league games as well !!!!!! Booohoooo!

End of Over 43: 226-1, runrate=5.26, reqrunrate=4.29 (255-7)
Oakley 7-0-46-0
Waterhouse* 26 (21 balls)
Lucas 97 (131 balls)
Last Wicket: Akhunzada c. Osmond b. Long 92 (FOW: 169/1)

Well Oakley is having a howler of a day, and has dragged the ReqRR down quite a bit :(

lost, tight game, probably 20-30 runs short in the end, should have opened with anthony not ghandi, but tbh i odnt tihnk it would have altered the result

took them close, today also highlights the effectiveness of having bowlers who can bat a bit (chaudry + cleaver) especially on bowling favourable pitches

Nooo i lost my cup game....shuld have won it but my middle order let me down

restricted them to 226 but then got 200 all out middle n lower order failing miserably

Well we decided to take it easy against the bottom ranked team today, could have been a risk as I'm still not entirely sure if my team is just as bad. However, we managed a healthy 270. Now it's their turn to bat and they're 4/29 just after 10 overs, it's a dusty track and they'll have to deal with a couple of decent spinners yet. I'm pretty confident about this one.

They decided to start scoring runs sometime after that point and the match looked to swing towards them for a time. Nevertheless, it was a comfortable 100 run victory for the Fighting Mongooses.
