AI 62-0 after 14
Not a single edge in sight. It’s things like this that make me lose faith with this game.
Things ultimately don’t work…
we still can’t skill a batsmen to be a true tailender..
it’s all pre determined!
I suppose it falls under the 'cricket is a funny old game' banner. Anything can potentially happen in cricket so 62-0 after 14 even with those settings is possible. If after playing the same game 10 or more times, this was typical, then that would be disappointing. That said, I do agree that there is no real notion of a tailender in Cricket 22 (or previous iterations). I wish they would have mocap of different skill levels with the bat, in particular. It's not that a number 11 can't play an elegant text book forward defensive or off-drive but they are also prone to inelegant swipes or defending with the bat too far from the body. There is a reason they are a tailender and a lot of it is expressed, in real life, as poor technique. Timing is also a factor but at the moment all batters, in Cricket 22, bat the same, from a technique perspective.
I would also like it if there was the notion of variable batter confidence. I hit Pat Cummins in the chest with 4 balls in 6 in an over, but he played on seemingly unphased by the experience. It would be nice if playing and missing, being hit by the ball, not being able to get the ball away for a single, etc. started to make the batter less confident and more prone to error but I don't detect this in the game...confidence seems to work in one direction based on how long the batter has been at the crease.
