The Nacon thing has certainly come up a few times in my sphere. Several Nacon games fit the current lack of quality control we see with BA. I've also been told a few little nuggets about the pressure put on KT Racing (also owned by Nacon) when they were doing the WRC games before Nacon lost the licence (and since reacquired for 2027).
EA is currently laying off developers, cancelling support for games that haven't performed well enough, cancelling still-in-development games, and refocusing on its most successful titles. They aren't about to expand into a big-budget cricket game.
So to expand on my experience, the AI did not change the field once during the entire first day of my test match from play now I hope this gets fixed soon.
In saying that, even though the above claims about EA making a cricket would be next to no chance being real I wouldn't be excited at all if EA made a cricket game anyway the game would be pumped full of micro transactions and there is not a chance in hell they would give us an editor to make classic players/teams. As much as BigAnt frustrate the hell out of me I would stay prefer them over EA.
Tried a completely new match and the field is now the same in that as well. It's not even a particularly good field for a test match. How do they keep doing this?

I have not touched the online ting at all. All I ever do is play 4 day county matches coz I'm a loser. It's so tweaking frustrating. You accept the game's myriad flaws and start having a fun time with it and then they fearsome tweak you over again and again and again.

In it's current state, with this bug, the game is unplayable for me. I can't believe I have to consider going back to a 12 year old game with a mod or a 7 year old game if I want to play cricket. Absolute cluster tweak.

Has anyone gone back to Cricket 22 now? 24 is completely unplayable. Might start a new career on the older game instead of praying for 26 to be decent, because it just won't be

I've put the game on the back burner until this issue gets fixed or waste releases more retro goodness, the only reason I still play the game is because of Waste's awesome creations (and the other retro legends but I don't know who they are)

I would have gone back if they haf dynamic camera and new batting pads.. I can't play without dynamic camera and can't play with those cardboard pads
