I did not think I would buy this game as looking at things and the way it was released was not the best. I however had s $75 gift card lying around so thought why not?

This is my honest impression of the game and I am playing on Xbox.

Features
  • CPL, PSL, Hundred, KFC Smash are licensed
  • Pakistan, New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, England are few countries I saw that were licensed.
  • While these are licensed only 10% of them have real faces. The only license so far that applies is real names.
  • Stadium editor has an option finally where you can have a Stadium next to a beach.
  • Except CSK and RCB all IPL teams are licensed, however again only 20% would have real faces.
  • Have never ever in my 25 years of watching cricket have seen a Piyush Chawala so thin and fit and fine.
  • Few stadiums have been added particularly from India.
  • The game is not 70%.
  • Constant issues with players colliding into stumps, running through each other still exist in 2023.
  • Two players stand next to each other and no body fields.. what is this? Pakistan cricket team?
  • Again 90% of the licenses do not have real faces, just names.
  • Andre Russel came out to bat with 0 matches played stat.
  • Adam Gilchrist is horrible in commentary
  • Crowd sucks more then 22.
  • I was playing Mumbai vs Kolkata and kept hearing Ganpati Bappa Morya at Eden Gardens.
  • Shardul Thakur scored a matching winning 50, no commentary or crowd reaction.
  • Same person seats next to each other in the entire stadium.
  • Run out reply and screen went black. Went to part of stadium that was completely broken.
  • Pony tail drag issue thst we have seen actually exists. As they field, the pony tail stretches across the screen.
  • No cricketing ambience at all while playing and felt even more dull compared to previous title.
  • Few graphical improvements.
  • New look replays look nice.
  • Player model sucks and all players look same physique wise .
  • World Cup has correct teams but still does not have correct fixtures which is horrible. Why ? Why?????
  • Selecting host nations mean jackass as they do not allow you to select licensed stadiums for world cup.

This is my feedback so far from playing the game for 50 minutes.

I would give it 1/5.

Ah, I just feel so frustrated and let down that Big Ant has become this. I have gone ahead and requested a refund from Xbox while I was still eligible.

Shame on you Big Ant. I am sorry but you have let a lot of hardcore cricket fans down.

You’re one of the few posters whose opinion I would consider seriously.

Not surprised at all that this is what we got. There’s no point in licenses if there’s nothing beyond what could have been replicated in game via editor tools.

Don't blame you mate. Lazy devs and cash grabbing companies shouldn't be supported.

I think this might be their last cricket game

It is not that difficult to give users what they want. Nobody is asking for a game every 2 years. Asking for great in game ambience is too much to ask? When you get licenses, you need to make sure your whole selling point is 100%. How can you pass off community creations as licenses with real name?

I simulated the world cup and Afghanistan bowled India out for 140. India only won against South Africa and lost all other matches including one to Netherlands. Saw constant 150-170 all outs in ODIs.

Why cannot they have world cup fixture put in place? Why is it so difficult?

Why is it so difficult to not have a script read and actually let commentators speak like real counter parts?

What is that stupid ugly looking flick shot?

The slap shot and the way ball rises in air?

Why did no one test out that out/not out on screen goes complete black and into broken stadium?

So many questions and I know 26 will be like this.

This at best should have been a $20 dlc

I mean thats how DLC’s work. They have to recoup the cost of licenses and with approx 20 new teams that are licensed and 10-15 new stadiums that are licensed, $20 seems a fair price.

This at $60 bucks is too much price even if I have free money in gift card. I paid $49.99 for The Show and have played hourrsssss.

Major problem/Habit of Big Ant Studios now days is they leave major portion of game fix for after release patches... Some may argue they are small gaming company etc, but my question is why should you put hands on 5-6 projects, where you still struggle to do one proper release...

Cricket loving Idiot in me buy the game for good experience, but end up as game Beta tester...

The small gaming company excuse is utter crap when there’s plenty of indie devs making good games with also excellent support post-release and clear communication pre-release.

I was going to start a thread to post reviews. Being an Asian and with a lack of options - I was enticed to pay for it.

Honestly, I could not be more disappointed. This was £50!

Rating: 1/10

Played a whole 50-over game between Pakistan and Australia (wanted to play against India but India doesn't have the right player names even tho the IPL is mostly licensed)

What has the changed from last version - barring Licenses?

Feilding - nothing has changed that's worth noting. Multiple times I ran 2's by just hitting the field in the deep. Once they threw the ball to the keeper and I was in the middle of the second run and the keeper just stood there and made no effort to run me out. Hit the ball in the air next to the fielder and he watched it go past him (completely catchable and then escorted it to the boundary). Hit some boundaries and the feilders in the inner cycle panic like they've never played cricket before and then run behind the ball. Don't see any changes - and this was advertised as one of the main differences. The bowler never tries to pick up the ball and run you out even if it is closer to him - he seems to run around the ball.
The commentary is still rubbish and now Gilchrist is involved - let the ball go to the keeper and apparently, that was a whisker away from being bowled. Got hit on the head while pulling and Mel said oh that must have hurt and Gilly said well played on the back foot.
Bowling AI - Nothing new. Batting with both left-handers at the top - every ball was basically on the leg stump and able to be hit to the leg side - barring one wide one which was cut away during a 5 over spell from Cummins over the wicket.
Graphics are rubbish - between every over there is a weird animation that shows a bunch of colors. Had a weird white light bubble for a few overs when I started.

I can't even begin to fathom why they would release such a product. By far the worst cricket game I've ever seen.

Surely you should have seen these issues 6 months ago when they delayed it - what did they change? Or was it even worse than this before?

I thought it would be like moving from an iPhone 14 to 15. Unnecessary but built on a strong platform and will have minor tweaks that would make it better.

Thank you for these reviews. I don't know why it bothers me so much but I find the bowler's inability to field so darn frustrating. It completely breaks immersion when you are bowling a beautiful over and then the AI starts running singles on balls defended directly into the bowlers follow through. I don't understand how this cannot be fixed as it seems like such a basic mechanic. Even worse is that this was not a problem in Cricket 19, so on some level they actually know how to fix it but I guess it's less important than scanning some new sponsors.

This was fixed in one of the patches in c22. But the very next patch it went back to normal. 6th or 7th patch of c22 if I recollect vaguely.
