Cricket 24 - General Discussion

So to expand on my experience, the AI did not change the field once during the entire first day of my test match from play now I hope this gets fixed soon.
I noticed this as well when playing a T20 match from the Play Now option. The AI team have yet to change their field setting. All the fielders in the inner circle.

I've put the game on the back burner until this issue gets fixed or waste releases more retro goodness, the only reason I still play the game is because of Waste's awesome creations (and the other retro legends but I don't know who they are)
There is this guy who makes awesome 2000s kits, I do not remember his name may be Firoz or something.. But you can search his creations by typing.. for ex if you are looking for Australian 2000s kit then type Australia 2, Australia 0, Australia 10..

No, it was a new match. So the issue is in custom match or tournaments.

I started Indian T20 league and the issues wasn't there.
Are you on PS5? I don't have any issues in new tournaments on my xbox. I mean the custom tournaments

I faced this issue in career mode... Save game and one more game after that, this bug can be seen, after 3rd game everything is ok...

Thanks appreciate the heads up, I'm always on the look out for the retro teams and players. Stephen Bailey is another who has created some wonderful teams :Cheersmate:

There's some great 90s bats on there from a user called Puck1365 (or something like that)

Has the AI improved after the recent patch? I played a T20 between Waste's England and West Indies 90WC teams and the bowling was very tight from England and now in a 1992/93 Frank Worrell Trophy test the West Indies pace quartet has given me nothing I'm 1/28 at drinks (15 overs) with a top edge off Curtly Ambrose going for 6 generously improving my score, pretty fun stuff at the moment and good to see the 3 slips return in tests.

I have been meticulous with the skills, proficiencies and mentalities for the players, so I'd hope they at least bowl well. :D

You will be pleased to know that after Mark Taylor top edged Ambrose for 6 the rest of the over was all short pitch deliveries lol I just realised that if/when Hooper gets a bowl the AI will crowd the bat again and will make me wish for a return of the ring field haha

I'm also working on breaking up those 2000s teams a little. 2000-2001, 2002-2003, 2004-2005. Even doing that, I haven't been able to include every single player England used (Jim Troughton in the bin). :laughter: It would be lovely to lose the 35-player squad limit.

I guess the West Indies is next on the list, given Waste's latest release!

Jim Troughton in the bin is a sentiment we can only wish the selectors had continued to adopt instead of dropping that policy for a (mercifully) short while

Keeping everyone's skills below 70 (except power and running speed) makes this game completely different
I generally keep power and running speed capped at about 80, to try and prevent 150 metre sixes. Someone like Flintoff is 77 and Jonty Rhodes, for example, is about the same for running speed.

But that's in part because my skill system was designed for the last game and I spent a week trying to convert it to this one. So, Sachin, has one skill in the 90s.
