Well, the younger brother of Michael Hussy is a great First Class batsman who has played county cricket and domestic cricket in Aus for many years, but only recently has he been talked about as a future player for Australia. He has a magnificent First-Class average and last season was dominant in the Ford Ranger OD series.

To me, he is the "Mark Waugh" of the Husseys, he looks better, but your more of a chance to get him out.

So do you think that he has a chance as a future Australian Cricketer? I think he might get a crack in the ODIs this summer in the triangular series... If he does, you heard it here first;)

Anyways, here is his CricInfo profile.

Well he looks damn good, so i don't see why not

He's been pretty brilliant since he came to Victoria, but consistency is probably why he is always one or two players outside selection. He might have a good year in one dayers, but a poor one in first class, then he goes to England where his reputation is even more menacing, but just can't continue the runs at home. By contrast, Hodge between '03 and 05 produced 5600 runs at an average of 60ish and still couldn't cement a spot on tours.

Yeah he has been a star for Notts for some time.
Australia should think about adding him into the frame if someone is injured or has a bad run on form

Very good player. Better at the longer game imo.
Well I'm not sure about that, he tends to give his wicket away in fc cricket but in od cricket he can be very destructive.

He is an aggressive player who is prone to bad spells when he gets too aggressive and throws his wicket away too much, but at the same time he has a lot of talent, flair and power. Is probably as naturally talented as Mike but not as consistent. Definitely deserves a go after his last domestic season, and could definitely establish himself.

I think he is slightly hard done to really, i think he is as talanted as Mike, but somehow is overlooked. But where would you fit him in?

Exactly, its not fair! If Cricket was a game played between two sides of 15, he would find a place in the Aus team.

Well his brother is out of form, but he won't be dropped. He's a capable number 4 or 5, but can obviously play lower if required.

That's the thing about alot of Aussie players. Had they been born in another era, they'd have played 100 tests.

Id slot Dave Hussey in for Ian Bell straight away!

Makes England look a bit stupid when they all start going crazy over Luke Wright who averages nearly 40 with the ball in both forms, 17 with hte bat in OD's and 25 in FC. If he was raised in England he probably would have urned out to be crap anyway :p

Wright's having a great season and has the ability to be our next all rounder. Didn't Fred average 40 in both forms at the start of his career?

This season Wright averages 46 in FC, 33 in List A with a wonderful hundred, averages 43 in 20-20 with a S/R of 177 and the highest run scorer. Not to mention the fact he's 8 years the junior of D Hussey. Though I'm sure you're just jealous of us snapping him up from you ;)

Exactly those stats will improve.

Wright should get into the ODI squad soon.
