I've been actually telling him that the coaching centre make it seem like a cram test or something which it isn't basically is.

Coaching centers did not force a child to take coachings. Its the child who opt for coachings and all etc. rather than focusing in class he/she goes to coaching centers. Also for extra knowledge too.I was also going in one of the coaching centers(VMC) but they never made us to cram.Though the students who were not able to understand any concept they cram also they didn't ask any query about it and in tests they didn't get result. ;)

Reliance doesn't force us to buy their phones, any brand/company doesn't force us to buy their products. It's their catchy ads "success in IIT in two years" which attracts parents and students, you can't blame it on the students or parents, it's consumer instinct. Where we see our benefit (superficial benefit), we consume that product.

You don't experience that much in 10th, I'll say it again.

Only if you'd read that article, sachin_rocks posted. KOTA is a cram school!:facepalm

Well, I couldn't quite understand why the MIT question was put anyways. What's it's relevance to the topic?

that's what I compared ?:p

"Suppose everyone gets a full ride to study at MIT. How many of the top IIT students do you think will prefer to transfer?"

everyone knows mit>>>>>>>>>>>iit and iit will never be able to come to the level of mit but what has this to do with iit requiring real understanding or cramming???

IT is not the be all end all :p

Are there any good liberal arts college in India?
