This is the worst possible outcome. Bairstow has made it to 30 in relatively mature fashion, and is now guaranteed a second dip at Test cricket. That said, England could still easily end up 130 all out as well

I am also finding it a little bit sad that Sri Lanka didn't play Sandakan instead of either Asitha Fernando or Dasun Shanaka.

Not because he's anything good or anything, but because he would complete my favourite kind of bowling attack: four spinners of four different kinds - an offie (Perera), a leggie (Hasaranga) and their left-arm equivalents (Embuldeniya and Sandakan). It's weird though, it's almost like international teams don't pick their playing elevens to satisfy my weird cricketing tastes

Yeah Sri Lanka, a guy who is good for nothing more than being a meatshield after 30 odd tests and the bloke who collects 4 ducks in a row are good enough for your side but not the one batsman who averages close to 70 on the biggest domestic minefields in Asia.

In what was of course a very good day for England, Bess picking up a 5-fer will harm us in the long run. He's a dreadful bowler. I've seen plenty of shite finger spinners bowling for England and he's up there with the worst. I expect he'll be massacred in India, assuming they have anyone fit enough to play.

I have not seen a side as bad as Sri Lanka. Even West Indies keeps finding talent but Sri Lanka post the Sanga and Mahela era has consistently tanked year after year. Irrespective of the format, this country has not produced international quality players at all. Mediocre at best.
