Well Queensland posted a modest 105 1st Innings and that could be punished here by the England boys.

England: 1st Innings:

Strauss gets off the mark with a cover drive for four and a well run single.

He then smashes one for 6, looks like hes filling opening batsman spot quite nicely.

Strauss is dismissed on 18 as he is caught in the slips, nothing he could do really, lots of seam movement, left helpless as it flew away behind him.

England: 25/1

England seem to be happy to drop the ball for 1's and 2's and play slowly, great batting.

Trescothick lifts one out of the ground for 6, terrific shot.

Trescothick and Thorpe, two very able and expericned batsman are looking to get in and build a stable partnership as Trescothick hits another 6.

Trescothick is on fire hitting two more sixes in quick succcesion.

Thorpe knocks the ball down to bring up the 50 for England after a quick single.

Trescothick gets another six before being caught LBW by Noffke, he is dismissed for 37.

England: 62/2

Vaughan smashes his first ball away for 4, he tries again on his second and thunders a fantastic shot straight to the catcher who fumbles but dives and catches his own drop, poor fielding from a fantastic shot, Vaughan goes for a dissapointing 4.

England: 66/3

Thorpe is run out on 7, more silly England running, shades of the last match shwoing through and a mid innings collapse looking likely.

England: 75/4

Flintoff smashes a six down the ground, easy bowling to smash around, no opposition to Flintoff and he should get a high score here, as should Solanki, both big hitters.

Solanki gets of the mark by stealing a few singles and two 2's.

Flintoff hits a lovely hook shot for a boundary as England move onto 96.

England bring up the hundred mark as Flintoff steals another single, Micheal Vaughan applauds on the balcony.

England reach the 150 mark.

Solanki smashes a hook away for a four to bring up the Hundred partnership between himself and Flintoff.

Solanki and Flintoff Partnership: 101

Solanki gets in on the fun and smashes one over the rope for 6, He then drops a single for Flintoff to take strike and strike he does, two more 6's to his name.

Flintoff brings up the 200 mark for England with a lovelt lofted cover drive for 4.

England: 203/4

Vikram Solanki has something to shout about as he makes his half century after another fantastic sweep for 4.

England: 250/4

Another 6 for Solanki and England are flying now as they lead by 165 runs.

Two more 4's for Freddie.

Flintoff and Solanki Partnership: 202

Flintoff edges agin but still no slips in place, it goes for four.

England: 301/4

Solanki smashes a six and goes the same way as Flintoff for his 100, another fantastic innings and coupled with his three wickets earlier should earn him a place in the squad to face the aussies.

Engand pass the 350 mark.

Flintoff and Solanki now lay claim to a massive 303 partnership.

Freddie Flitnoff: 202*

This also brings up the 400 mark for England.

After playing a few more fantastic shots Flintoff is caught by Seccombe off the bowling of Noffke, The England boys on the balcony applaude him, as do the players on the pitch and a sallute by Freddie to the crowd before leaving on a fantastic 220.

England: 467/5

Giles has a good innings before going for 28, caught in the now placed slips.

England: 503/7

Anderson goes first ball, the seam is moving again.

England: 503/8

Hoggard edges but the slips have been luckily moved and it runs away for 4.

when he finally does go though no slips are needed as a thin edge just about carries to the Keeper and Hoggard goes for 30, another decent Innings.

England: 556/9

Harmison wisely leaves his first ball as its the last of the over and hands the stike to Solanki who has been on 198 for 20 minutes.

He doesent need a second longer though as he sends the ball out of the ground and drops to his knees as he makes 200, another Double century in the same innings, a great performance from both men.

Vikram Solanki: 204*

He makes another 4 and a single before Harmison is clean bowled leaving him 209* in his 1st innings.

England: 568 All out
***Vikram Solanki Not Out on 209***

Fabulous Innings by a few of the England Batsmen, two obviously in particular, putting to rest the non breakable hundred mark at last with a massive score, well done lads!

Queensland find themselves 463 runs behind going into their 2nd Innings with England still to bat again should they make that total.

Queensland: 2nd Innings:

Anderson gest the edge first ball but the slips seem to have deterioated and dont even attempt to catch it.

Queensland find there first two runs from no balls.

Hoggards edge is again seemingly ignored by the slips and it goes for 4.

Anderson gets his man on 5, a fast delivery that straightened up and hit the pads, the umpire called it out, good call, Kreuger goes LBW.

Queensland: 8/1

England hope that Queensland dont start the day as they mean to go on as Anderson is cut away for 4.

Queensland bring up the 50 for 1 wicket as they start to get going.

Harmison gives away four byes, not good but England still lead by a long way.

Another 4 Harmison byes.

Love in run out on 18, fantastic Fielding againt by Solanki, another direct hit from about the same place, it goes to the 3rd umpire and he is clearly out.

Queensland: 75/2

Harmison is smashes away on the on-side for 4.

Two balls later is happens again but Anderson makes a diving stop and they get no runs, lovely work.

Giles takes a wicket and Flintoff takes a catch as Carseldine goes for 3.

Queensland: 82/3

Perren in struck viceously on teh head by a Harmison "Death Ball"

Queensland bring up the Hundred for 3 wickets afater a good sprint for 2.

Solanki's pride i damanged as he gets smashes for 6, lovely shot from a good ball. Maher also gets his 50 from this, well batted.

England dont knwo where a wicket is going to come from, they look to the pace man Harmison and the swinger Hoggard as they both are moved into the attack.

Maher and Perren pass the 50 partnership mark.

Harmison is the man who gets the breakthrough in the literal sense of the word, he sends Maher middle stump cartwheeling down the ground as the ball flys though the gap and Maher is dismissed for 78, a good innings.

Queensland: 156/4

Harmison sends Perren away for 21 after uprooting his off stump and dislodging the middle, Perren missed the delivery and payed with his wicket. Lovely bolwing.

Queensland: 166/5

Seccombe is teh next to go as Giles clean bowls him with some fantastic turn on the pitch. hes gone for 6.

Queensland: 181/6

Hoggard takes a wicket, gets a thin inside edge to Jones behind the stumps, lovely nagging line, most stayed low but the batsman was cought unawared of this bouncer and Noffke goes for 5.

Queensland: 195/7

Strauss steps up to the plate as Vuaghan runs out of options, his slow medium baffles Nash who gets caught LBW on his first bal against him, he goes for 25.

Queensland: 204/8

Next over and Strauss gets another, what is going on! This time he clean bowls Daws who completely misses the ball and it hits off stump.

Queensland: 225/9

England win by an innings and 238 runs

They carry on to a 10% success rate.

The two captains join David Lloyd in the middle for the toss, Vaughan calls heads and the coin lands heads up:

LLoyd:
Well, Micheal, you've won the toos, what are you going to do?

Vaughan: I think we'll field David.

Lloyd: And why is that?

Vaughan: I think this pitch is going to get better for batting as the match progresses so i want to get the Aussies out as quick as i can and get that last batting slot and get some runs, also the overcast weather is great for our bowling attack with the likes of Jimmy Anderson and Hoggy.

Lloyd: Well Micheal, good luck, you're gonna need it!

11) S Macgill

Well England have chosen to bat on a normal pitch with overcast and Humid conditions, perfect for swinging the ball, there is a slight chance of rain here today which could hinder the matchs progress, there is a fair bit of moisture in the pitch but it will dissapear early, the bowlers will need to keep a full length early on and take the advantage given to them.

Australia: 1st Innings:

The aussies pick up 2 quick singles from the first ball to get on the scoreboard.

Anderson gives away a no bal and the aussies steal 2 more, not good bowling.

The swingers start there attack as Hoggard and Anderson pile on the pressure.

Hoggard gets smashes away down the pitch and with no long on in place it rolls over the rope for 4.

Good runing etween the wickets sees Australia make 20 of 4 overs.

The umpire turns down a plum LBW appeal by Hoggard, ball hit the pads low after the bounce and would have gone on to hit middle and leg stump, dont know what was wrong.

The Aussies are picking up most of the bad balls and sending them to the boundary.

Harmison replaces Hoggard in the attack and has an immediate efect as they score no runs of his first 3 overs.

Andersons line gets a bit messy and he gets hit for a few fours.

Harmison gives away a no ball and then gives the batsman a half volley chance in at the pads, it flicked away for a pacey four runs.

Flintoff goes for 4 as does Harmison to bring up the Aussie 50 for no wicket.

Giles makes the breakthrough once again as he draws Hayden down the wicket into the shot, he is beaten in the flight and it slips through the gate to uprott middle stump, fantastic bowling Ashley Giles. Hayden goes for 26.

Australia: 52/1

Giles' first over is a wicket Maiden.

The Aussies try to make a quick single but obviously havent been practising there running drills, Solanki proves his worth as a speedy fielder, he picks the ball up and throws to Jones behind the stump who makes no hesitation and stumps Ponting for 0.

Australia: 52/2

Langer hits two fours from two balls off Harmison.

He hits two more off Giles and looks to be in form.

He makes his 50 with a four of a good ball by Harmison with the new Batsman still to face a delivery.

Harmison is driven away for 2 but Solanki foils the plan again and this time Harmison makes the stumping, fantastic fielding as Martyn goes for 0.

Australia: 93/3

Langer is holding this innings in his hands as he brings up the Aussie 100 claiming most of them himself.

He moves into the nervous ninetys with yet another 4.

Giles gets smashes for another 4 as Langer moves to 96*

Solanki is hugged and kissed by the entire England squad as he dismisses the thorn in Englands side, a fantastic delivery which drew Langer into the big down the wicket stoke but eluded him as it spun past his bat and into the arms of Geraint Jones, al he could do was turn around to see Jones stump him about a metre out of his crease, great bowling sees Langer go for 98.

Australia: 138/4

Waugh is run out after smart fielding in the deep by Harmison, he goes for 5 as England start to find form.

Australia: 140/5

Giles gets his second wicket, Bichel tried to turn it of his hips and got caught by Strauss at silly point for 1, silly batting rally in the last over before lunch.

Australia: 143/6

Gilchrist comes out from lunch the returns as he goes first ball, run out after a good throw by solanki reaches Jones who doesent hesitate. Dismissed for 2.

Australia: 147/7

The Aussies make 150.

Lee is next to go on 4, another runout by Solanki, The Aussies really need to concentrate here.

Australia: 150/8

Giles takes his third wicket, another silly point catch by Strauss, Gillepsie goes for just 3.

Australia: 152/9

Giles gets his fourth to wrap up a poor Aussie Innings which was boosted and relied heavily on Langer, Giles finishes on a double wicket maiden as Macgill goes first ball.

Australia: All out for 152
McGrath not out on 2.

Poor Aussie batting and fantastic fielding by England puts them in a good position to win this match.

England could take the match out of Aussie reach if they wrack up a high score here, will they do so or fail yet again?

England: 1st Innnings:

Strauss drives one away first ball for 4. Good batting from the start, it looks like it should be a good day for England.

Strauss hits a six off the next ball and is really going for it.

The rain clouds drop there contents and play is stopped for an hour.

Strauss edged to Ponting off the bowling of McGrath as he goes for 10, bad batting but it was partly due to the movement from the now damp pitch.

England: 10/1

Trescothick hits a big six against the Aussies and he loks very happy.

Thorpe is run out for just two, good running, Great fielding, nothing h could do really, the Aussies were on there toes with a low throw.

England: 18/2

Vaughan hits a four from his first ball, a lovely on drive through the covers.

England will be looking to the captain and vice captain to biuld a partnership and put the Aussies away,

Another fantastic Vaughan stroke goes to the boundary.

A third perfectly times stroke goes to the boundary and lifts Vaughan into double figures.

Trescothick hits cover drive out of the middle of the bat and it goes for four, great shot.

Trescothick latches onto one after dancing down the pitch, he smashes it hard for 6.

He hits a second successive six as England reach the 50 mark and narrow the Aussie lead to 98.

Vaughan strokes another to the boundary to bring up the 50 partnership between himsefl and Marcus Trescothick.

Vaughan obliterates the Aussie bowling as he sends one on its way for 6.

Vaughan goes on 49 after trying a sweep shot, it hits his pads and is adjudjed to be LBW, Gillespie with the key wicket for the Australians, England look in good form though.

England: 90/3

Flintoff gets a full toss on his first ball, this could prove costly for the lads from down under.

Trescothick is dropped on 29, a hard diving low catch a 3rd slip, could have been taken and will probrably prove costly.

He punishes the next ball and sends it for 6 bringing up the 100 for England.

Dropped, six then out, Macgills spin proves a temptation and he has a go and is consiquently caught by Waugh for 33.

England: 103/4

Flintoff goes next ball for only 6, basically the same dismissal as Trescothick, same bowler, same catcher.

England: 103/5

Macgill gets a hatrick as Solanki gets stumped by Gilchrist after going for the spinner.

England: 103/6

Giles ends the spell as he smashes one for 4 and lifts England again.

Macgill gets his own back next ball as Giles is runout, silly running, was looking for two that werent there, he goes for 4.

England: 107/7

McGrath clean bowls Jones for just two, poor batting by England, very dissapointing after a good start, they really are starting to look desperate.

England: 109/8

Anderson goes next ball, another silly runout trying to get soem runs on the board, bad planning by England.

England: 109/9

Harmison looks promising as he strokes a four on his first ball, Macgill gets his fifth wicket through a bichel catch at 2nd slip, an outside edge by Hoggard sees him dismissed for 3.

England: All out for 117
Harmison Not out on 5

England have thrown away a good opertunity and face a struggle as the Aussies lead by 35 going into their second Innings.

The Aussies should win this match with ease now, even a total as low as the first innings should be sufficient if England dont improve thier batting form.

Australia: 2nd Innings:

Langer gets busy again smashing Anderson away for 4.

Anderson conceeds seven runs from the first over, not good for England.

The Dangerman Langer is sent back to the dressing room early on 11 after being runout, the craving for runs proved too much this time round as he went for the greedy two and was stumped by Jones halfway back.

Australia: 13/1

Giles gets swept away for a well timed four, a few 1's and a 2 in his first over, just warming up..... we hope.

Giles takes a fantastic wicket, beat the batsman in the flight once again and clipped the top edge of the bat, Jones collected well and congratulated the bowler, Ponting goes for only 7.

Australia: 34/2

A Perfectly excecuted square cut from a poor Harmison ball brings up the Aussie 50 for two wickets.

Harmison gets his first wicket of the match and gets the breakthrough as Aussie Hayden lofts the ball straight into the waiting and expecting hands of James Anderson, an easy catch.

Australia: 121/3

Waugh is the next to go but all hope looks lost for England as they are behind by 218 with six wickets remaining, Hoggard with the wicket, thin edge to Jones for 32.

Australia: 183/4

Martyn in going well on 70.

Spoken too soon as Harmison gets his second wicket, this time its a big one as Martyn gets clean bolwed by a corker. Pitched straight and uprooted off stump with some away movement, the batsman who was defending leg and middle got nowhere near it. Martyn made 88.

Australia: 217/5

Harmison gets his third by dismissing Bichel for 7 after an amazing catch by Trescothick at 4th sip, diving to his left, going fast hard and low, caught in one hand.

Australia: 227/6

Harmison is on fire as he dismisses Lee for 4, got through teh gap between bat and pad and uprooted a stump and mangled the other two, hit middle and leg which in turn cannoned into off. great bowling by Steven Harmison.

Australia: 238/7

Another fantastic Harmison wicket gets him a five wicket haul, caught and bowled Gillespie for 2, The bouncer was chiped back to his safe hands not a hard catch.

Australia: 242/8

Harmison makes yet another breakthrough with another great ball, beats the batsman who playa a high backfoot defensive stroke, it stays low and uprootes middle stump, cracking bowling as McGrath goes for 6.

Australia: 264/9

Harmison goes beserk as he claims his 7th wicket by clean bowling Gilchrist a few balls later for 39, a key wicket to round off the Innings uprooting leg stump, pitched in the middle with some away movement.

Australia: All out for 267
Macgill not out on 0

England face a 303 chase which in current form cant be done, but remember Flintoff and Solanki, could it happen again?
