Story Englands Tour Of The Sub-Continent (part 2)

All one day matches after this one will now be on hard mode, with tutsi's 3.1 patch and sams exe

Report of this game is sparse as i played it some time ago (due to run-out bug so i cant remember what happend. You will have to tell from my screenshots. I remember the pitch was dusty and it was humid, west indies elected to bat first. I am starting to enjoy one dayers again so next game will be back to full detail.

England go through to the final where they play the West Indies again!

nice game!! even though you did not have a big score to chase. Looking forward for the next match :)

The Final Of The One Day Triangular Tournemant:

Indies win the toss and elect to bat. Its a sunny day here, the pitch is nice and hard. It should have something it in it for the batsmen and the bowlers, and if the openers can survive the early spell then they should be able to post a reasonable target. The pitch may detoriate a little as the innings progresses however it is by no means a bad batting track.

Vaughan was quick to admit that although he would have batted first, had the toss been won; his bowlers have an edge over the indies having bowled them out fairly cheaply in the previous one dayer before this final.

England off to a flyer, Anderson has a peach of a delivery, gayle plays across the line, on the cover drive, only mis-hitting the catch straight into the gratefull hands of Harmsion at gully (:D ). A few balls later anderson in his second over knocks over hinds, just clipping his off stump with an inswinger. Lara arrives at the crease muttering words of discontent (sounding like he's been smoking pot all night). He went aftr Harmison but the extra pace caught him out, he attempted a front foot straight drive and only skied it up miles. Harmison was able to take a sweet diving catch. Anderson next over brought the end of samuels, who could only nick it to the keeper. Indies at 5-17 and in real trouble could this be a complete whitewash. NO!!! Jacobs and hurley had other ideads. As the ball started to lose its shine all seam and swing quickly disappeared, and they were able to build a FAT partnership of well over 100 runs. They mixed aggression with defense well. In the end after scoreing 105 runs, Jacobs lobbed a front foot square drive straight to Collingwood at cover. Hurley panicked at loseing his big time partner and blasted one straight down andersons throat on the boundry, vaughan was the bowler. Then came the delivery of the innings, Drakes fresh at the crease received a fairly short floater (not the turd) out side off stump from vaughan, drakes played all around it and it clean bowled him, hitting half way up middle stump. Dillion ran himself out going for an extra run off what was clearly a single. Collymore was caught by read, off a slow ball by harmison.

West Indies are all out for 210 after 47 overs. Indies made a fighting recovery after what was an abysmal start. However England are confident they can win the match as the required run rate is only 4.22 per over

Good stuff. I am actually looking forward to playing some 1-day stuff after reading these games. Brutal batting by Jacobs and Hurley (sounds like a solicitors  ) to give the WIndies a chance. Best of luck with the batting.

Whoa!!! Jacobs was on a mission - have some of that! With you on that Fishbowlman - I am really looking forward to the one dayers.

Gas how much differently does the game play in a 1 dayer compared to a test with Tutsi's patch. I know the run out bug is more prevalent but does the white ball move around more, do batsmen play more false shots, do yorkers really not work?

sorry for the late reply tigerdes, i have been haveing a few days off, but with tutsi's new 4.0 patch im back. In version 3.1 i suggest playing with hard mode enabled as on medium it can be a little to easy to stop the cpu scoreing. I suggest you edit your fields, i was haveing a 8-2 field with one bloke on the leg side at mid off on the right. You have to bowl a strict line anything on middle and off could go for a few on the leg side. But by doing this you are bowling to your field (something you must do on hard mode) You will get nicks early on, you will get batsmen caught playing long drives at the boundry, you will also get hit for a six or two, but its good fun. It is possible to bowl but its very hard. Easiest with swing bowlers, then spinners then the quicks.

Welcome back gas man! Have downloaded Tutsi's ver 4.0 patch and have been reading good things about it. Will finish off my tour game before installing it so will be using it for the second test.

You've obviously paid your internet bill then - or is the cut-off still imminent?

Thanks for the info. I've downloaded Tutsi's 4 patch and so far it looks like the daddy. I'm thinking of binning my tour after the next test and playing some one dayers. I'll see how the test goes.

Keep on Windies bashing [no offence Karan]!!

dude dude, dude, one dayers suck compared to test matches! Just been using tutsi's 4.0 patch for my batting and every bowl is aimed at the stumps , so after 18 overs i have yet to play any other shot other than a straight drive down the ground. Time for medium i think ;)
