Much similar to what I've thinking from the start of the year. With so many of international bowlers being out 'cause of injury, our players have become afraid of that. That's why Ishant has lost pace.
That's a serious problem I guess. If they gain pace, they won't be able to play much and if they loose the pace, they will be owned.

I don't know why the that should be the case. First and foremost quality of a pace bowler is to be fearless. A genuine fast bowlers intimidates the opposition and does not fear any thing. If that is mentality of young Indian bowlers, then we can forget about any fast bowler coming through for them.

Its not a case related to just Indian fast bowlers. Its something related to Indian players in general. Playing for India, the money, hype, exposure, fame is so huge, players want to stick to their spots forever. If they get injured, they fear that their places might be taken by somebody else if they are out of the team, and so they play with injuries, they play even when they are not fully fit, and the team suffers because of that.

If you are a good pace bowler, especially in India then you wont have to be afraid of someone taking your spot because there arent that many good pace bowlers in India.
I don't think Kapil Dev was ever afraid for his spot because of injury. Indian pace bowlers need to fear for their spot because of bad performances not injuries.

It doesn't always seems to be good talking about Indian pace bowlers because they are not at all consistent.

Message to them - South Africa or Australia might need your performances, go to them.:p(to lose)

Well, fear of injury is a disease amongst fast bowlers.

easy to solve, players play only ODIs, T20s or tests. some overlap could apply to T20 players and ODI ones, or test and ODI players, but no one should be playing all three. Even Khan should step down from the T20 side.

let RP singh and Pathan focus on T20, with possibility of being picked for ODI games. Let ishant focus on tests, he's not an odi bowler, he looks a 100 times better when allowed to just bowl fast outside off stump and try to get movement off the seam. In ODIs he's getting hammered by players wanting the space to free their arms, in tests they'll be more cautious due to more slips and wanting to reign in the aggression.

They should but the only problem is Indian media :facepalm. If they don't click even for one match, Indian media will totally bad-mouth and say "hate" words to them. People in India are like this only.:facepalm

All good fast bowlers get fame and all, why are the Indian bowlers the only afraid ones? Excuses, they're just hopeless

They are not hopeless. Guys like RP Singh, Irfan Pathan, Sreesanth, Ishant have all shown lot of promise and have given us lot of hope that we have found our fast bowling future. But they have dramatically fallen by the wayside, and left us dry.

Ishant-Irfan-pfffft. I wouldn't say much about Indian pace bowlers. Let's wait for Umesh Yadav and Vinay Kumar.:)[

Once again, these guys have performed decently when given the correct conditions. They suck on the flat pitches that we dish out in India, much like every other bowler. When we're touring, they're usually good enough to take wickets, which is why we've seen a dramatic rise in the number of Tests we've won abroad. The next step is to make that more consistent so that we can string those wins together and win series'.

At home, we basically have to choose between leaving more grass on the pitch or just relying on spin. Of late, pitches haven't been good for bowling--pace or spin. I think we should push our home advantage and make spin-friendly pitches at home for international series', and try to make them more mixed for our domestic games.

Yea that basically sums it up. I think as soon as the young Indian bowlers explode onto the scene they tone down the pace on purpose to elongate their careers at the expense of the teams success. Even Sreesanth sort of admitted it during the interview.

Also have to say that listening to Boggle doing a planned and thought out interview is much more enjoyable than hearing him do commentary. He actually sounded somewhat intelligent in that podcast.

These are horrible arguments and excuses. Indian bowlers suck and everyone knows it. The only passable one is Zaheer Khan. First they blamed the pitches, then they blamed the schedule. Now, they're blaming the stress. The problem is the talent. And it's always been the talent.
